Ammar Sawan took his first step toward resettlement in the US three months ago by submitting to an initial round of security screenings.
But his plan for a better life fell apart when President Donald Trump enforced an indefinite ban on Friday on displaced Syrians entering the United States.
Sawan, who is a Syrian refugee living in Amman, Jordan with his family, revealed on Saturday that he learned of Trump's decision from TV news the night before.
'When we heard of the order, it was like a bolt of lightning, and all our hopes and dreams vanished,' the 40 year-old said.

If some liberals want to let in unknown/unvetted Syria Refugees into the USA, why don’t they give the Government their home address and say they will take them into their home?

What’s wrong with Jordan? It’s next door and muslim for the most part. The USA is far away and non islamic. There are also many other options open in terms of other countries with islamic rule.

I thank God for His mercy and forbearance to America and its CITIZENS by placing President Trump and his entire administration into power.
So, it seems everyone else’s nations are crap holes that have no hopes or dreams and only the horrible US can save them.
You ASK to come here, you do not demand it, and you do not deserve to come here. You come with something to contribute, you do not seek to 'fundamentally transform it'. Now go home and think about that for a generation, and tell your children to think and behave differently, and be grateful that western civilization has left the world with a place where you can escape the types of cultures and governments you and your ancestors have wrought, which you so desperately want to escape.
And if you are not one of these, and you are being asked or told to leave, it's not America you should be angry at. It's those of your own culture and the idiotic and destructive liberals who refused or are too blind to tell you apart.
Better yet -> take our values back to your lands and implement them. There is no shame in recognizing the clear fact that western civilization is superior when measured by the freedom, joy, strength and peace it creates. I didn't create it either, and don't take credit for it, but it's clearly the best thing that ever happened to humanity - a species whose history is littered by by governments and cultures cyclically murdering their own and enslaving their own. Get out until you can have some humble appreciation for that.
