PHILADELPHIA Republican lawmakers aired sharp concerns about their partys quick push to repeal the Affordable Care Act inside a closed-door meeting Thursday, according to a recording of the session obtained by The Washington Post. The recording reveals a GOP that appears to be filled with doubts about how to make good on a long-standing promise to get rid of Obamacare without explicit guidance from President Trump or his administration.

Fake gnuz from a fake gnuzpaper !
WaPo... 99% chance of this story being pure fiction, otherwise the usual suspects are worried that their kickbacks from insurance companies are being threatened.
Just read this. I think some concerns are relevant and need to be addressed. I like that they are looking to President Trump to come up with a plan as I’d prefer a whole plan from the President than the consensus garbage Congress too often produces. I’m surprised at the several members more concerned about Planned Parenthood than about repealing and replacing Obamacare. Maybe they peal this off and settle it separately and first. No funds for abortion, no funds for Planned Parenthood. Period. Okay, next, lets talk about health care. Will be interesting to see how President Trump navigates and leads these weak kneed Republicans. Maybe ignores them for some pragmatic Democrats?
Obamacare is on a fast train nearing a dilapidated bridge. Democrats own it, hook line and sinker, now.
If the GOP doesn’t take steps pronto to repeal and replace this monstrosity, they are going to be blamed when the train finally plunges to the bottom of the chasm.
This isn’t the time for finger pointing and wobbly knees.
Yep, more fake news.
Lol! Pubbies are cowards. Where have these people been the last couple of decades. Of course many Pubes are wetting their pants. All they’ve been doing is waffling and fretting and worrying about what the Big Bad NYT will say about them.
How about just dropping the mandate and let the insurance companies sell policies that people want? If there were something built in like a two-year waiting period for people to be eligible for benefits, most people would be scared into getting a policy for catastrophic situations.
WaPo says the Republicans are fretting. Probably the NeoCons who are afraid of their own shadow
It likely was a leaked recording by one of the moderates trying to derail this issue. Take your pick.
THE BIGGER ISSUE here that nobody seems to catch, is that the real problem is them trying to “replace” Obamacare. Why? So we can have Obamacare light?
Just repeal the stupid law. It is not my responsiblity to pay for the health care of people not in my household. And anything other than an outright repeal is my tax dollars paying for somebody else’s result of life decisions.

It would be funny if this is some CIA propaganda concocted with WAPO with there being no recording..but the GOPE start freaking out because they think there is one.
I Have no doubt that GOPE are freaking out about a lot behind the scenes.
So are they saying, “If you hate your obamacare plan you have to keep your obamacare plan, if you hate the doctor you have in your obamacare plan you have to keep the doctor in your obamacare plan.”
The problem with repeal and replace is you can’t put things back like they were before obamacare existed. Those plans no longer exist. If the democraps had only pushed through the largest expansion of Medicare in history, and left the rest of us alone, it could be fixed. But nooooo! They wanted to screw up the entire insurance industry. Boy, did they ever!
The fact is, we cannot repeal Obamacare through reconciliation, said McClintock. We need to understand exactly, what does that reconciliation market look like? And I havent heard the answer yet.
Tom McClintock is no slouch.
I think Dan will be the chief of Zombie News
Yep; consider the source. WaPo. ‘Nuff said.
You are absolutely correct.
It took years to implement and it will take years to fix.
And I predict that few will be happy with the fix.
Trump should go out say categorically and emphatically that the individual mandate is done. No one has to buy health insurance this year and the IRS will not collect the penalty this year or retroactively because GOP has PROMISED to the American public to repeal 0-care. Trump can go ahead and quote these weasels that they would REPEAL 0-care.
He can also say that the states can do what they want and his administration will grant waivers to any state that wants to give consumers more health insurance options. So states can get rid of coverage mandates.
If enough people hear that message loud and clear, the only people to sign up for the marketplace will be those with very high yearly medical expenditures. The young and healthy will not sign up, and the death spiral will be very fast and insurance companies will pull out.
I meant Medicaid not Medicare.
Actually, it would not be hard at all to reinstitute the plans they had before Obamacare. You just list them as new plans when re-enrollment/enrollment periods come up.
The plans that are out there now, did not exist before Obamacare, but they were drafted up none the less.
