Interior Dept Hired A Registered Sex Offender Who Kept Getting Arrested And Didn’t Tell Anyone
The Daily Caller ^ | Dec. 23, 2016 | Michael Bastasch

The Department of the Interior (DOI) hired a registered sex offender who hid the fact he was arrested three more times and convicted of two domestic violence felonies while working for the government, according to an investigation.

“Our investigation confirmed that the employee is a convicted felon, is a registered sex offender and is currently on probation with the State of Colorado,” DOI’s inspector general (IG) wrote in a short summary of an investigation into a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employee.

BLM hired the male employee, who is not named, in 2011, and he had not been on probation for a past crime since 2003. The employee disclosed his felony conviction to DOI officials when he was hired, and the agency “knew of the employee’s criminal history when they hired him and had adjudicated his background as ‘favorable’ after mitigating his criminal history based on the time elapsed since his conviction.”

Isn’t this what the Obama Regime wants? Employers can’t ask applicants about their criminal history, and past convictions can’t be used as a reason for rejection.

I don’t see why this is surprising, given Obama’s designs.

Hopefully Trump will return some sanity to the regulations.

But they knew all of that anyway. What they didn't know were the convictions since he was hired. Some people just cannot keep their nose clean, for they are their worst enemies.

They’ll probably re-hire him and make him the government’s new santa just in time for Christmas.

Robert DeLong :" But they knew all of that anyway.

" Some people just cannot keep their nose clean, for they are their worst enemies."

This is all according to the plan to create CHAOS !
"Some people just can't keep their nose clean.."
The best indicator of human behavior is ... past behavior.
The fact that DHS did not complete an update security background check shows how incompetent they are.
Their primary objective is to employ ...and raise the cost of security, and not to provide security nor safety !

“BLM hired the male employee, who is not named”

Why would he not be named? Do we have some compelling interest to protect the privacy of registered sex offenders who are defrauding the government?

True, but not foolproof by any means. He was afforded a second chance because he had kept himself out of trouble for 8 years. He blew that second chance. Others have taken second changes given to them and turned their lives around and become positive productive citizens.

Sex crimes are one of those crimes that are handed out too liberally in my opinion.

The real sex crimes that involve forcible rape and crimes against children are warranted.

An 18 year old having sex with a 17 year old is not warranted.

So not knowing exactly what his sex crime involved it's hard to tell the seriousness of that label he is stuck with for the rest of his life.

Employers definitely can ask about criminal history of an applicant.

Baloney. If he was on probation, his PO would have contacted his employer. The truth is, they ignored it.

BLM using the same tactics as Hillary and Obama. Hire people with a criminal background and then when needed, blackmail them into performing 'off the record' tasks. Like the guys who offed Lavoy Finicum.

What would actually be very helpful is if Trump made it illegal for prospective employers to ask how long you were employed at previous jobs.

Here me out on this. If you’ve been working at temp/gig jobs because that’s all that offered you a position (or you worked at a real job that closed or offshored or downsized) your work history ‘looks bad’ and you have to either lie or go with a bad work history. It’s effectively a criminal record without a trial or jury being involved.

Don’t get me started. I knew a college mate whose parents had to smuggle him at least out of the state if not farther in the dead of night from a manhunt.

Why? He mooned someone and their kid was in the backseat, so it qualified as ‘indecency with a minor’ or some such baloney. Even being CHARGED with that kind of offense means good-bye job and scholarship at the bare minimum the minute people find out. And convicted? You’re hosed.

Took my respect for the legal system down a few notches.

Oh that is the most egregious application of the law that I have ever heard of. That’s a shame, no it’s criminal, on so many levels.
