Comet Ping Pongthe Chevy Chase pizzeria tormented by a gunman who was self-investigating an internet hoax last Sundaywill host a neighborhood support event this weekend. Billed Stand With Comet on Facebook, the event was originally just planned for Friday. But with thousands saying theyre interested in attending, the organizers of the event decided to extend the event, pushing it through the end of Sunday.
We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and solidarity you have all shown, the announcement, posted on Facebook, says. It is a stirring reminder of how many good people there are out there, who are committed to doing the right thing and helping those in need.
The notice also asks patrons to support neighboring businesses including Besta Pizza, Little Red Fox, and Politics and Prosewhich have also been harassed by conspiracy theorists.
For those who cant attend this weekend, Comet says itll soon set up a GoFundMe page to solicit donations for the restaurants property damage and security detail, and to help offset costs for its time out of business since the December 4 incident.
Sympathy for the pizza?
pizzapizza...
uh oh...
They forgot to add “Carnally”
to that sign
The best I can say about Comet Ping Pong? It’s owned by a pervert.
If I were them I’d change my business name...............
If someone wants to protest... just show up with the Madeline McCann Efits... and let everyone know a person matching this description has been known to visit the restaurant.
Besta Podesta? Yummy! I’ll have mine sliced thinly with walnut sauce. And CHEEZ! Lotsa CHEEZ!
I expected it to say we love our children. Better we love YOUR children.
Or maybe “We love our neighbor’s children.”
It takes a village .....
I wonder if John Podesta will come by and offer his support?
They hired a PR crisis company I know. I guess this must be their idea.
But why? Why do they need a PR Crisis Company if it’s all FAKE, FRAUD, FAKE NEWS?
I can understand why CPP would do this even if it’s fake news. What I can NOT understand, is why Google, Reddit, FaceBook, Twitter, Washington Post, and many others completely come to the defense of CPP and censuring before there are even many aware about the charges.
I mean, why should the giants of media care about a small pizza joint in DC and its reputation?
The Snopes article on the subject relies entirely on a New York Times article that claims the claim is false without any corroboration. It’s just kind of funny now, but I hope one day the “too big to fail” will fall like dominos.
I will be glad when everyone sees Snopes for what it is.
Bump 4 l8r! Thanks!
Assuming it IS a lie, all good lies have an element of truth in them for plausibility's sake.
That's not to say their declaration is false, just not supported.
