Grubhub CEO Matt Maloney found himself fighting backlash to a post-Election Day email he sent to employees Wednesday that asked employees who didn't agree with the company's "culture of support and inclusiveness"(i.e. support President Trump) to resign.
The missive was sent to more than 1,000 Grubhub employees Wednesday in response to past statements made by President-elect Donald Trump.
"While demeaning, insulting and ridiculing minorities, immigrants and the physically/mentally disabled worked for Mr. Trump, I want to be clear that this behavior - and these views, have no place at Grubhub," Maloney wrote in his email.
Maloney pledged to fight for the dignity of his employees, should any of them feel scared following Trump's election to the presidency...

I think he amended his comments after getting some legal advice.
Good, moron. Double-down.
Well folks, NEVER, NEVER USE GRUBHUB!
Lawsuit, fool. Class action. Hostile workplace. Denial of political freedom. Slam dunk. Kiss your company goodbye.
His business is going down the commode!
A wise CEO always insults half his potential customers.
HOSTILE WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
INTENTIONAL INFLICTION OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS
OPENLY DISCRIMINATING AGAINST PEOPLE FOR THEIR BELIEF’S
WHERE ARE THE FEDS?,EEOC?,US ATTORNEY/............
I never used their service, so the boycott will be very easy.
Hey dude, you’re in business to make money. It’s not easy to do when you piss off half or more of your customer base. What’s the matter with these lefty CEO’s? What part of “separate your business from your politics” is so hard to understand?
yeah... the ACLU will be right on it...
He got it.
GRUBHUB destroyed. Thanks Hitlary.... ;-)
(Never used them but what a maroon as they say in cartoons)
GRUBHUB!
Cook it yourself, its always better!!!!
Matt Maloney is about to see the results of his fit of anguish and lash-out. Hostile work environment, political bias, intimidation and a host of other charges these employees’ lawyers will drum up. And, he can expect a less-than-sympathetic DoJ to take his ass to the cleaners.
I doubt that they were that kind.
While grubhub has a website, they basically lie behind the scenes of any local restaurant near you that provides internet ordering of foods. Those orders go thru the Grubhub and ultimately into the restaurant.
So if you want to take any activist action, find out who grubhub services in your area and let them know you won't be dealing with them anymore......
You left out voter intimidation.
18 U.S. Code § 594 - Intimidation of voters
Whoever intimidates, threatens, coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, at any election held solely or in part for the purpose of electing such candidate, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
