SOHO — A small independent pharmacy in SoHo is catching heat for posting signs that state women can shop there without paying tax — while men have to ante up a 7 percent "man tax."

The signs in the store windows at 137 Thompson St. are meant to raise awareness about gender discrimination in the pricing of consumer goods, Thompson Chemists owner Jolie Alony told DNAinfo New York.

So much for the notion of equal rights.

Institute a new gender death tax. Since 93% of “on the job” deaths are men, there should be some compensation or equity.

You can look it up.

You’ll never hear Gloria Steinem mention it.

Not a problem unless you self-identify as a man at checkout.

This has been a trend in a lot of small businesses in Manhattan - putting liberal talking points on the window. What a way to run a business.

Gray Papaya has done it, gay establishments have done it and now a pharmacy has done it. Sadly for them, most people go to Duane Reade.

Nope. They never mention that bit of inequality.

Well, it’s their business and they can run it as they see fit.

Pity that courtesy doesn’t extend to all business owners.

This precise area of New York was Genovese boss Vinny "the Chin"s old turf. He used to roam the streets there in a bathrobe mumbling to himself. He lived about 3 blocks of this location. Genovese capo "Benny Eggs", still alive and well at 90+, still lives there. Today the area is almost entirely Yuppies and so-called "Hipster" j-offs. The area is about half a mile west of New York's Little Italy section.

Wonder how a Hillary tax would go over. Would they be so cool about it?

I mean you can’t help what gender you are. You sure are 100% responsible for who you support.

While I agree with you philosophically in reality Christian business owners are forced to cater to homosexual marriage under the theory that they are “public accommodations”. As such, her business would fall under the same category and therefore she is discriminating. If she is upheld, can Christian business charge homosexuals a gay tax or give discounts to non-gays without being persecuted?

50% of diver welders, infantry, midnight 7-11 clerks, and sky-scraper riveters need to be women —now it’s unfair.

UNFAIR..!!!!

Ever notice how there’s NO outrage about the term GarbageMAN...?

Gosh I wonder why.

Imagine if you will, a male owner deciding to tax females more than males.

The friggin outrage would be louder than a nuclear bomb.

Not many people are aware of the fact of how much more women have to pay ... taxes on tampons and all of their women stuff, and men don't have to pay taxes on that stuff.

Are people born this stupid or do they grow into it?

I can only speak from personal experience, but, as a man, I think it's great that I don't have to pay tax on tampons and women's stuff.;-)

That said, I do live with 3 pussies.

Of course, they are tomcats, so they get their tampons and women's stuff tax free as well.

Excuse me...I have to go and grab a pussy.

When Hillary was First Lady of Arkansas, she would force the state troopers to go to the store to buy tampons for her, and they would have paid the same tax as if she had gone in person.

"I didn't do it to be sexist or anything. I love gays and I love transgender — I'm a New Yorker," Alony said.

Oh, that clears it up, she doesn't hate men, just the 97% that are into chicks.
