Oh my, the breathless NYT reports, after aiding and abetting breaking the law by releasing part of a NY state tax return that was stolen (if it's a true copy) from Trump.
The return showed a roughly $900 million net loss one year.
This, the Times reports, means that Trump may not have paid any federal (or state) taxes for many years.
To which I say: So what?

NOL (net operating loss) is a key function of large businesses. It serves to match the match the revenues and the expenditures that take place over a number of years . And yes the risks and rewards also.

I saw examples of this while researching some old records about commercial real estate transactions in 1987. Apparently the tax reform legislation of 1986 included changes that drove real estate investors to make changes to their holdings for tax purposes.
Unlike what the Hillary Clinton liberals say, there is no benefit in losing a large amount of money, and then being able to offset that loss against future income. In reality the situation is no different than someone who doesn't have to pay taxes since they never received the income in the first place.

What is more, igornant people who do not deal with big expense and maybe some profit don’t know that all tax from profit is due in the year it is made but losses can only be taken against tax on profit. In other words, Uncle Sugar gets his money first the instant you make a profit but you get no refunds on losses unless you first make a profit and recovering your loss back can take years, maybe decades. Just the way it is.
This is no big deal to the educated but to the little people, the sheeple, it is an outrage.
