May 2nd 2016 I was banned from FR for criticizing FR. Suddenly my account is active again. What happened? I post this in news/activism only because someone may have an answer and my account is "too new" to allow me to email Jim Rob to find out.

Based on your opus, you should have stayed banned and not just been suspended:

The freeper’s who once actually fought by marching on the naval observatory during Bush v Gore or occupied the corners adjacent to the Walter Reed hospital against Code Pink are long gone, disgusted by the “Pajama warriors” who are content with their snide comments and insults substituting for thoughtful debate. Although I have not been registered on the site for a long time I have been a lurker since 2000 and have commented through my wife. I was at the Texas Capital in 2000 in support of Bush against Gore. I posted sexual predator alert signs on lampposts outside where Bill Clinton spoke. I freeped Hillary outside her house in 2003. I poll watch against voter fraud. After action reports from protest freeps were an everyday occurrence. Now freepers pretty much sit on their asses.
No wonder that FR now has constant freepathons. Its members won’t put their money where their mouths are or like obamaites want everything for free.
Freepers used to denigrate Democratic Underground for the intolerance it showed. Now FR is no better.

FR has brought that division upon itself, substituting insults and barbs for reasoned debate. How Democratic Party-like.
Now new sites are being created that oldtime freepers are flocking to. In 2013 I wrote a vanity titled “Is Free Republic worth saving?”. Sadly I’m afraid the anwer is no.

I was trying to think of something pithy to chime in with, but after reading this there’s really no way I could say it better.
The irony is that, as time marches on, stuff that got people suspended 8 years ago does not warrant a second thought today.
It does not pay to be too far ahead of even the (justifiably) angry mob.
