It's many things. Shoe polish, desert topping, and an opportunity for Trump to contrast himself with Crooked.
What the press does with it is largely irrelevant. The people will judge the event independently. It is known ahead of time the press will claim Crooked was the winner. They claimed that about the Lauer "Forum" event. The public isn't buying the press opinions anymore.

2. Since "fact checking" is all the rage in our slimeball media, how about they "fact check" the truth about the so-called Commission on Presidential Debates. It started out and has remained nothing but a means for the establishment politicians and media to grab control of presidential debates. They get to decide who can and cannot debate, what the rules are, who the "moderators" are (elite journos, of course), what the topics will be, etc. It's all elitist bull crap, and that's putting it mildly.
I’m reading this as “Lester will ‘fact-check’ Trump constantly”. Fact-check to a democrats is “It’s not factually correct because I disagree with you”.
Let him try. Because he will HAND the debate to Trump when he does. Because UNLIKE Romney, Trump wont put up with crap like that!
Lester Holt is black (of Jamaican descent) so his career is safe...if he pulls a Candy Crowley and Trump calls him on it, tomorrow’s MSM story will be about how Trump is a racist.
Trump should start calling Lester “Candy” from the moment he hits the stage.
