Referring to someone by the wrong gender pronoun is a violation of federal anti-discrimination law, according to West Virginia Universitys Title IX office.
Title IX, which was signed into law by Richard Nixon in 1972, prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Among other things, Title IX forced college athletics programs to treat mens and womens programs the same, leading to a vast expansion in female NCAA athletics.

Use “it” for safety.
I am praying that Trump administration will take an axe to any kind of federal support, funding or enforcement of this kind of PC nonsense.
Title IX will need a little rework soon under Trump.
Hmmmm, forming plan to get kids expelled, will demand to be referred as special pronoun, but will not tell them what it is, or will make up an unpronouncable word, and will become deeply offended when it is mispronounced
The federal anti-discrimination law is patently unconstitutional and, therefore, illegal and invalid and should be overturned at the federal level and until it is, nullified and rejected at the state level. Unconstitutional federal acts are by definition tyranny which MUST be overturned and resisted at every level.
Not knowing what the proper pronouns are for various genders (last I heard there were over 30), maybe I'll just make one up and use it for everyone. How about "Marge"?
Title IX needs to be repealed. Enough with the government coercing a change in the how society treats the sexes. (And yes, there are only two.)
I guess ‘Hey, you’ is the preferred personal pronoun, then..............
Click bait.

Hey, you works for all instances..................
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Whenever patriots hear about some federal law or official action, Title IX in this example, the first thing that they need to do is the following.
Simply put, patriots need to make sure that the states have delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to make the law or action in the first place. This means checking the law against Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, the personal rights amendments, and Supreme Court opinion clarification of these clauses.
And in the case of the vote winning, anti-discrimation aspects of Title IX, patriots will find that the only sex-related protection that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by the 19th Amendment, that amendment giving Congress the power to strengthen sex-related issues in the context of voting rights.
But since 1st Amendment-protected use of gender-related pronouns is clearly out of the scope of voting rights, somebody at the referenced institution basically doesnt know what theyre talking about concerning individual citizen violation of Title IX imo.
And hypothetically speaking, even if the states had amended the constitution to prohibit the use of traditional gender pronouns, the Supreme Court had clarified in United States v. Cruikshank that the states have constitutionally prohibited only themselves and the feds, not individual citizens, from official actions that violate constitutionally enumerated rights. So I suppose that it could be argued that only state and federal officials wouldnt be able to use gender pronouns.
So whatever the institutions are indoctrinating laws students with concerning 1st Amendment-protected free speech for example, its' evidently not the limited powers of state and federal governments as constitutional lawmakers had intended for those powers to be understood.
