Mike Pence: Trump campaign to discuss lifting media blacklist
Politico ^ | July 29, 2016 | Hadas Gold

Vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said the Trump campaign is having conversations about lifting the blacklist it has applied to certain media outlets.

Speaking to radio host Hugh Hewitt on Friday, Pence defended his own history of dealing with the news media, saying he authored legislation while in Congress to help protect journalists’ confidential sources.

“We’re going to have those conversations internally and I fully expect in the next 100 days we’re going to continue to be available to the media, whether they’re fair or unfair," Pence said.

The Trump campaign has blacklisted certain outlets, including POLITICO, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post and others, from attending his events because of what he considers unfair coverage. On Friday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo said he is blacklisted from the Trump campaign “because of how we conduct our interviews.”

Trump may be the Republican nominee, but the Republican National Committee refuses to get involved or even comment on Trump’s treatment of the news media, instead diverting all questions to the campaign.

Calling it the “a big criticism” he has of the Trump campaign, Hewitt asked Pence on Friday to “argue with” Trump to lift the ban.

Keep in mind, Pence endorsed Rafael Cruz born in Canada first. Cruz’s downfall IMHO was his religiosity personna. Pence is dragging the ticket down. Indiana was going to go red anyways. Aside from that, Pence has failed to impress me on the stump.

All news organizations should be required to state if they or their reporter has affiliation and scheming with the Dems. Put them on the spot. If none, if they agree to abide by traditional journalistic ethics and practices, then maybe let them in. Allowing people in that are partisan propagandists does not serve anyone well.

Notice how the reply to Trump shutting out hostile media is always some variation of “It’s not in the American tradition”.

Yeah, well, what happened to the “American tradition” of an objective media? News outlets that DIDN’T act like a broadcast arm of only ONE political party, refusing to say anything good about the opposing party while never saying anything bad about the party they’re blatantly supporting??

If American Media wants to suspend that great “American tradition” of being objective - and they definitely have - then they shouldn’t be too surprised if the people they always beat up on get tired of being beaten-up and say “no more”.

It’s not complicated. Want your access back, Big Media? Then stop with the ant-Trump hatefest. NOW.

Let's get this going ASAP......

B/C crooked Hillary has so much to hide, she wont hold a press conference.

HAT TIP DMZTAHOE: Trump should hold a press conference on her behalf. He can have the press ask any question to Hillary, and he will answer them truthfully on her behalf.

It would be hilarious, and very damaging to the shrew.

Wow, very well done. Excellent research and argument, thank you! This is the type of rebuttal that needs to be made publicly. Collusion by so called free press and defense for Trump. Two birds, one stone.

Fortunately, the Trump campaign doesn't take strategic advice from posters on this thread. What he and Governor Pence are doing to the Washington Post is commonly called a Mutt and Jeff routine and they seem to be working it masterfully.

If Rum-Knee had shown similar cajones, he might be running for re-election now.

:: You guys bar some reporters from your campaigns, specifically the Washington Post. I’ve argued about this with Mr. Trump. It’s not in the American tradition ::

Hmmmm...they also bar Constitutional carry at the campaign venues. Neither is THAT in the American tradition to so strictly control firearms.

Which is more important, Mr. Jackass?
Yeah, we don’t need to guess.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to see Trump make THE SAME FREAKING MISTAKE with Pence that Reagan made with Bush.

I screamed bloody murder here on FR for months warning Trump. I have no access, this is my only forum. All this "criteria" for a VP. The ONLY criteria for Trump's VP WAS and IS basically: continuing the recovery of freedom in America in 2024.

The press is the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party. They should be shaking down the 240 days without a press conference pantsuit express instead of whining about access. The press crying about ‘the American tradition’ is truly rich. Their tradition is in the rich tradition of Joseph Goebbels or Stalinist Pravda.

My list of talk shows to listen to are getting smaller. I happen to be listening to Howie Carr right now.

Pence is starting to become a liability.”

His job should be making Trump look good, but he seems to be going off on his own. We have these comments, the comments that Row Vs. Wade will be overturned by Trump, & his comment that Russia will be held accountable for hacking DNC.

Why stir up the hornet’s nest with his Roe VS Wade comment. That is going to turn off some new Bernie supporters. He can fight for the overturn after Trump gets elected. I didn’t like his threat to Russia. It shouldn’t be thrown out there like he did. Both sides hack each other.

He seems bent on making policy rather than supporting Trump. I’m beginning to wonder what he’s up to.

Donald Trump, America’s modern Mussolini

Actually, Hillary is America's modern Mussolini. She doesn't get described as such because most people don't understand Mussolini or fascism.

Fascism is an economic system that seeks to achieve the goals of Marxist dialectical materialism through the regulation and monopolization of the corporate estate. The goal was to eliminate smaller enterprises and consolidate economic power into an ever shrinking group of state regulated, state preferred corporations; ending finally with one great "Corporation" controlled by the state. The preferred businesses worked symbiotically with the fascist regulators. The preferred businesses got government contracts, protection from competition and government financial aid in the event of any serious management failures. The regulators got their cut. In early 20th century Italy it was not necessary to disguise kickbacks and bribes as "speaking fees".

This is the path that President For Life Franklin Roosevelt set America on in 1933 and is the industrial policy of Clinton and Obama to this day. It's also the policy of the Bush family and the globalists. When Trump talks about a rigged system I don't think he is talking just about one election cycle.

Trump is a capitalist. He's made his deals with the fascist leaders in government but has most often been on the other side, competing with the preferred entities and maintaining control of the projects he was involved in. The "establishment" - the ruling government oligarchy and their willing partners in the corporations that thrive in a climate where regulation strangles their competitors and bails out their managers when they screw up will do all they can to stop him.

Bush was Reagan’s biggest mistake.

The others being Sandra Day O'Connor, Anthony Kennedy, and pulling the Marines out of Lebanon after the barracks bombing (thus encouraging Islamists to continue bigger and better attempts to attack us).

You’d expect Hewitt to say that cause he’s moved to D.C. and is now part of the beltway media elite. He counts Jake Tapper and Candy Crowley as personal friends for cripes sakes.

I am hoping Pence was just trying to be polite to him.
