Donald Trump's campaign reached out to John Kasich in May with an offer to make him the "most powerful vice president in history," the New York Times reported Tuesday.
Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a Kasich advisor after the Ohio governor ended his own presidential campaign, promising that if he accepted the vice presidency, Kasich would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
The advisor asked what Trump would be in charge of, the report said, and Trump Jr. responded: "Making America great again."

Kasich is not up for re-election in 2016. His term finishes in2 years.
BS! BS! BS! ... Why be president if you're going to delegate all the duties thereof to your vice president? Makes no sense whatsoever.
I do not doubt at some point the discussion about Kasich came up with his ability to win OH, but his childish antics and drifting liberalism would have pretty much moved him down in the rankings.
Bull$**t from the New York Times. If this were true, Kasich would have spread it during his “campaign” to discredit Trump.
If Trump wins, it sure will suck to be Governor John Kasick, hee hee!

Remember the rule: everyone who “turned it down” was never asked.
If true, this is a classic corporation management approach, with Trump as CEO and his VP as COO (Chief Operating Officer). When I was employed at a big company long ago, they had an “office of the president,” in recognition of the fact that the CEO’s job is too big for most individuals. At the same time, the CEO must be outward-facing, marketing the company to the world, its investors, and the media, and he must be inward-facing, actually directing the operations of the company. In a big company, each of these roles is a full-time job requires different personalities and capabilities, so it makes sense to divide up the top job, as long as the top two can work together.
couldn’t agree more. instead those fearful of this classic management approach are those out of touch with the real world.
Kasich? The guy eats pizza with a fork!
All of these Rust Belt politicians want more immigrants. The Mayor of Pittsburgh is begging for Syrians. They want to pimp their raw population numbers ahead of the next Census to preserve their Congressional and Electoral College power.
Crapola.
Yep, this one has a downwind from the stockyard reek.
Sounds like pure bovine AND equine excrement to me.
Lets sprinkle it on the garden and see how well it makes things grow!
Kasich is a pouty little b!itch for not showing up at the convention. Particularly as he is Governor of the host state. Every one of these children can continue to hold their breath until they turn blue. Then they can pound sand. I can think of a few more things they can do, but trying to keep it clean.
Kacish is a petulant moron, like Jeb. Look how Rubio and even Cruz have agreed to speak at the convention, while the rhinos sit home and pout.
If this is anywhere near true thank God it did not happen. Kasich is an idiot.
Maybe Hill can tag Kasich now!
So if Kasich would have been in charge of foreign and domestic policy, what would have been left over for Trump?
If TRUE, THANK GOD HE WAS SUCH A BABY!!! Pence is going to be FABULOUS!!
