Reports surfaced on Thursday afternoon that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump picked Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice president (VP).

“As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week,” Roll Call notes, citing an anonymous Republican source for the report.

The New York Times and CBS have also reported the pick is Pence.

However, the Trump campaign is denying this is true.

Good. Allen West is the go-to-guy for Trump’s VP.

I think he’d do it in such a way that he wouldn’t admit it, but Drudge gets the message, the official Trump spokesperson denies it. Media hype continues through the night. I think people are going to be excited about Pence. Interesting that Condi Rice was approached. She was my pick. I thought she’d be amazing. Would have really turned some heads. Surprised she turned him down. I like to see her in his administration, but she’s loyal to the Bushes, and probably that was the reason.

Back to Pence.

Trump campaign: "A decision has not been made by Mr. Trump."

Trump: "I will be making the announcement of my Vice Presidential pick on Friday at 11am in Manhattan."

Obviously, a decision has been made.

There is no oopsie, it’s Pence. They just want to preserve this idea of a “surprise”.

Pence is highly compromised and on the wrong side of a number of key issues - including being a proponent of globalist trade policies.

Second send out. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2016/07/14/roll-call-source-says-its-pence-n2192776?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl_pm&newsletterad=
UPDATE II: Source tells Reuters that Trump told GOP officials that Gov. Pence will be his running mate.

Which they just wait and get it right. I understand Pence has a deadline as a running governor.

I’m still convinced its Rand who Mr Trump will choose.

None of the others add anything to the ticket

I’m definitely going to have to have a better reason to vote for him than we have gotten thus far.

A couple days ago, someone here suggested the VP pick might be someone whom no one is talking about, but is hiding in plain sight. Steve Miller?

Oh Hell YES!!

“Why can’t people wait for the actual announcement instead of reacting like headless chickens to every rumor that comes along?”

What kinda fun would that be?

I dis-information campaign? Maybe. But, then again...

Mike Pence leaving Mount Comfort Airport in Greenfield, Ind. at 4:10 headed to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

“Plane from Indy to Teterboro NJ, going right back to Indy.”

I just saw that. Also, there are reports that Pence is dropping his gubernatorial re-election bid.

Strong signals, but I still would not be surprised if Trump names someone else.

No, Pence did not veto the Religious Freedom Restoration Act passed by the state legislature. He immediately signed it. The LGBT lobby immediately went berserk, and it was the Republican legislature that folded like a parasol, quickly drawing up “clarifying” language that was appended to an unrelated bill that very same week. The Religious Freedom Law was never vetoed, nor was it rescinded. It was, however, effectively amended by adding explicit protections for gender identity and sexual preference.

Do I wish Pence and the state legislature had stood up to the LBGT lobby? Of course. But the time to do that was as the bill was being crafted. As I understand it, it was a badly written bill. So, imho, what looked like a quick cave to the vocal LGBT lobby was a scramble to cut losses before it met court challenge. Do they stand on intent and not the language of the law (like democrats), and have the bill struck down on appeal, being the precedent that poisons any other state’s religious freedom law?

It was a mess, to be sure. And I was disappointed. But I think we should be disappointed for the right reasons. Pence did not veto the bill. He signed it. He did not cave to the LGBT lobby. He did, however, reap the consequences of hastiness and sloppiness, underestimating the opponents, and overestimating the skills of supposed allies.

Would be funny if it was a complete head fake:

‘I appreciate Trump considering me worthy of VP, but after discussing it over with Trump, Trump has decided Newt is best for the job.’

Listened to Hannity, which is really hard to do because he pontificates, then repeats and repeats and repeats and repeats again and again! I digress.

Listened to Hannity interview Newt on his show today and one thing I noticed is Newt never once used a past tense when discussing the V.P. pick.

As I see it, whether it's Pence or not, Trump has played the media like a Stradivarius!
