~ Independence Day, July 4, 1776 ~

Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Good morning, Canteen. Good morning to our

AWESOME

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen
for today's activities.

Another day of rain.
I woke Saturday morning to rain.
It was a good soaking rain this time,
(not thunder and heavy winds)
and I was able to enjoy my coffee on front porch and
listen to the rain...been a long time.

Some people celebrated early,
and won't be too disappointed if the town fireworks is canceled.

Hubby and I had a good weekend
even with all the rain.
Saturday was gorgeous!
We had a lazy day, then went out to dinner.
Yesterday, we went clothes shopping for hubby,
then had lunch/dinner before heading home.
Today, just a normal Monday, so
hubby'll relax before he has to go back to work.
Don't know if we'll be able to grill today, though.
After this storm, we're in for at least one week of hot, hot temps.

Time for me to make my rounds.
Please stick around and visit with the military
and/or family members.
That's what we're here for.

I don’t know where all these upstanding Massachusetts citizens obtained their illegal fireworks, but last night, my little town sounded like Beirut.

Wisely, I had slipped Lynn-Dah a “micky” wrapped in sliced smoked turkey breast, earlier in the day, so she slept like a puppy! :-)

Well, thanks LUV W. Yesterday was in fact in adventurous day.

We drove around Waurika Lake and the city of Waurika. Haven't driven down there in awhile.

Then we had a line of storms come into our area. Lightning from one of the storms took a line down a few blocks from our house and knocked out power to a large part of town for about three hours.

Power did come back on around 8 PM. We did have to reset the router to get it to connect back to the Internet.

We didn't go to bed until around 8:45 PM or so.

Our area is under a Heat Advisory today and tomorrow so we're going to take it easy and not do too much outside for awhile. May do some rides out in the country.
