WASHINGTON (AP) -- Attorney General Loretta Lynch is expressing regret that she sat down with Bill Clinton while his wife is under federal criminal investigation, a chance encounter she acknowledges "cast a shadow" on the public's perception of a case bound to influence the presidential campaign.
"I certainly wouldn't do it again," Lynch said of the meeting.

I bet these meetings have been ongoing. We just know about this one because a reporter put his nose to the ground.

This seems to most closely fit with WJC’s slick, underhanded ways. But wouldn’t that mean Lynch trumped him with her claim of following whatever recommendation the FBI forwards her?

Good question. My guess: FBI mole inside the AG's office itself or elsewhere in the DOJ. With a bunch of FBI guys feeling a bit disrespected by the administration, I can see how this info made it to a compliant reporter.
Maybe she is trying to fight back by doing that. Who knows, maybe Bubba failed to intimidate her but he sure created a mountain of crap for her to climb.

Here's my take: the CIA/NSA intelligence community has the entire BHO/Jarret/Hillary gang dead-to-rights. They want a scalp - if BHO gives up Hillary, then he will be left alone during/after office.
BHO has seen how lucrative the pay-to-play speech for foundation cash set-up works. If he can exit office with a clean reputation, he can enjoy many many years of luxury. But he has to play it smart. So, how do you give up Hillary while looking as an objective player?
The Lynch-Toon meeting was meant (and did) achieve two things:
(a) It allows LL to recuse herself - and provides Barry a strong firewall - by leaving the responsibility to a career functionary who will process the FBI criminal report like any other normal referral;
(b) For his role in the charade, Bill gets some heat off his back about his own legal problems. He knows how serious the charges are against Cankles, and wants to have a safe exit route. Think of rats leaving a sinking ship.
Everyone wins in this scenario - except the Witch. But the Witch was going down regardless. That was the minimum demand from the spooks. The threat was, we can get to you if you let her go. Play it smart and have a nice life.
My guess would be that Bubba intimidated her very well. Then she got back to DC and someone with more clout than Bubba—Valerie Jarrett?—told her not to worry, and gave her the script. Jmo.

No I’m not kidding. Its a question that someone needs to ask. Was Obama aware of this or not? Some reporter needs to bring this up because its a matter of whether the president was involved or not.
I agree that these people are schemers of the first order. And that gets to the point of asking the question. Force them to talk about it. The more questions they have to answer the more likely they will trip up.
Meanwhile, the GOP majorities in the House and Senate stand idly by hoping that no one expects them to do anything.

That is how the Clintons operate. No question about it. They are vicious, cunning people.

Agree that they are vicious and cunning, but what really puts the bite in their bark is a string of dead bodies. To name just a couple, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, and the guy who had a barbell accident immediately before he was supposed to testify against Hillary.
Make no mistake. That reporter was meant to discover the meeting. The story wouldn’t have even aired at the local level, if this weren’t planned and coordinated from the very top.
She’ll be indicted if she sinks in the polls. Obama is dead serious about having a third term. He’d be okay with Hillary, but my guess is that Biden’s his first choice. So far Biden hasn’t wanted in. That could change if he were to become Obama’s only hope.

Besides Sheryl Attkinson, I can’t think of another reporter who has the guts (or clearance from management) to ask such a question - and Sheryl’s no longer employed as a high profile reporter.
Bloggers and talk radio hosts will ask, but the Great Unwashed 47% pay no attention to them.
It’s enough for me to realize we high info types on the right are already onto them, which means Trump is, too.
