Police say a rancher jumped on his horse and lassoed a man who was trying to steal a bicycle in the parking lot of an Oregon Walmart.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports 28-year-old Robert Borba was at the Eagle Point store getting dog food Friday when he heard a woman screaming that someone was trying to steal her bike.
The rancher says he quickly got his horse out of its trailer, grabbed a rope, rode over and lassoed the man and bicycle.

Yippy kye aye m*****f***er.
“Gotcha, ya low-down dirty thief!”
What’s that Willie Nelson song...”My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys”.
If only he had finished with the hogtie
I have seen some replies on FR that have some doubts about how that Rancher “Just happened” to have his horse all saddled and ready, etc.
Well to you doubters. It isnt uncommon during a roundup to see cowpokes going down the road with thier horse in the trailer all ready, saddled up and all.
I have seen them with the horse on the back of a flatbed truck traveling a few miles to another area to round up cattle.
Horses are still the best way to work cattle.
Saw this yesterday. Fine quarter horse skills there Mr. Buckskin. Nice taut rope like you were trained.
Let’s see how many civic violations he is charged with. In Oregon, the laws are probably written to protect the bike thief.
Things are different Out West. That’s why we don’t need New York financiers and DC parasites writing laws for us. :)
Must be Eastern Oregon - if it was Western Oregon, I would’ve expected strict rope control laws.
Jackson County-Medford is the county seat.
He had just finished watching the movie “The Cowboy Way”.....
Heck, even here in my small town in Tennessee we see horses in line at the drive-thru at Hardee’s. Our town doesn’t outlaw horses in town. We have a huge Mennonite and Amish population here that are frequently in town and it’s common to see their wagons and buggies tied up at Wal-Mart and other stores.
Nothing better than a well trained Quarter horse though.
He is a racist and therefore it was a hate crime.
What a great story. Glad the woman got to keep her bike....hope the story ending is as happy for the cowboy. God bless him AND his horse!
Medford, Ore is a beautiful part of the country. Known among other things for its annual summer Shakespeare Festival.
What an awesome image!
Ashland is where the Shakespeare festival is....farther south.
Girls over there look a bit dumpy however.
