TWA 800 was destroyed twenty years ago this July off the coast of Long Island. Mike Wire was one of the 258 FBI witnesses who reported an apparent missile strike. The New York Times, which owned the story, interviewed not a single one of them. In the absence of real information, the CIA and FBI collaborated to discredit the eyewitnesses and advance an exploding fuel tank theory. Wire’s case is just one shocking example out of many. Recently the CIA released documents pertaining to the tragic destruction of TWA 800. During review of those documents, I have learned that the CIA had designated me as Witness #1 to the heartbreaking events of that day. For the FBI, I was only Witness #571. How the CIA came to decide upon me is at the heart of this miscarriage of justice.
On July 17, 1996, I was working to get the new Beach Lane Bridge in Westhampton ready to open. The bridge crosses the narrow inland waterway and connects the mainland with a small strip of beach beyond.
As a millwright tradesman, I had been working all day in the mechanical room of the bridge. A little before 8:30 p.m. that night, I surfaced to get some air. I was talking to one of the many men working with me when I saw what looked like a cheap firework rising from beyond the houses along the beach. This wasn’t out of the ordinary for a summer weekday so close to the 4th of July.

The date coincidentally was a holiday in Iraq.
I remember watching the video in the news, and it was clear to me that it was a missile that hit the plane.
Probably they wanted to deny it was terrorism, because otherwise nobody would ever fly again.
So, the “official” story is a fraud.
(And not for the first time.)
But at least in this instance, the motive is understandable.
It’s so easy.
“Keep your mouth shut or you’ll have trouble.”
“You need to keep quiet for the safety of your fellow Americans.”
“We’re working really hard to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
The Clinton Democrats.
Same think with the Oklahoma City Bombing.
Ever seen anyone executed by the US that fast?
It was about protecting the Democrats.
The ‘missile’ moved in circles. Sounds like a sidewinder from a navy ship. I’d keep quiet too if I worked for Bill Clinton.
The got to the head of the FBI’s NY office. He went away one Friday and came back on a Monday and said I Want a mechanical reason and no other cause!
I don’t know what happened, but I distrust the govt and the media in this case.
This eye witness account claims that the missile came from the shore while most of the other ones came it claim from the sea. And if from shore, what kind of missile could hit the 747 a number of miles out to sea?
why did he wait so long to come forward? There could be a good explanation but I was left with that unanswered question.
There is an excellent documentary available on Netflix of this event. Completely destroys the published findings. Has some great interviews with NTSB crash investigators that were not allowed to examine the plane wreckage without official escort at all times.
Bottom line was this was a military/CIA/FBI investigation from the moment it happened and the NTSB was shut out for the only time in its history.
I witnessed the crash from the beach in Norwalk CT and my mother witnessed it from the beach in West Haven CT.
No one wanted to hear from us, talk to us or anything. We both saw something come up from the horizon.
I live not to far from there. I’ve heard too many people from the south shore see the missle go up and the plane come down. Jim Kalstrom and the FBI has been telling this lie now for 20 years. I do not know what ground shaking thing they are trying to hide, either a friendly fire incident or a couple of towel headed jerks on a boat with a hand held rocket launcher. But I do not believe the gas tank lie.
A Bill Clinton coverup for sure.
They denied ti was terrorism to help Clinton get re-elected.
So EVERYONE deployed on the particular ship that supposedly shot that missile has been persuaded to keep quiet??
This the third post in the last two days that I’ve noticed that is about TWA 800. Why the sudden re-interest?
This witness story does not surprise me at all.
I know someone who witnessed AA 587 on 10/12/01 and what he reported was also ignored. He was closer than anyone else earthbound at the time. He was almost directly under 587 when it exploded and started to break up. He was/is the Captain of a boat in Jamaica Bay and when the tail section fell into the South channel, he went and held station over the wreckage until Harbor G (NYPD) arrived.

Apparently they were aiming for air Israel but they had some problems on the runway so they let the air france take off instead.
