This witness story does not surprise me at all.
I know someone who witnessed AA 587 on 10/12/01 and what he reported was also ignored. He was closer than anyone else earthbound at the time. He was almost directly under 587 when it exploded and started to break up. He was/is the Captain of a boat in Jamaica Bay and when the tail section fell into the South channel, he went and held station over the wreckage until Harbor G (NYPD) arrived.

I remember that too.
The crash happened on US Veterans Day 11/12/2001.
Weren’t there two Queens emergency services personnel who were emphatic that they saw a small explosion in the fuselage before that plane crashed?
It was ridiculous to hear the “official” narrative quickly spread by mainstream media telling us that the plane’s tail flight surface fell off.
