Campaigns and candidates matter. Clinton cannot simply coast into the Oval Office. She’ll have to work for it, and it’s not clear that she knows precisely how that is done. For the moment, like the Republicans who tried and failed before her, Clinton and her campaign staffers seem utterly perplexed by the Trump phenomenon.

They didn't want to win might have rocked the "our hands are tied, nothing we can do" mentality in Congress when the GOPe held the majority in both houses. The Republicans say one thing, but they're just part of the same tax and spend structure as the Democrats.

McCain and Romney were both suffering from paralysis of analysis, in which they both simply bought into the line that they were racist, sexist, homophobic bigots. This line, apparently, was very effective, but only because they ALLOWED it to be effective. The Donald, however, has never bought into this line. Like a huge Caterpillar D11% bulldozer, he simply rolls over these attacks, and in doing so, invalidates them.
Herself thought the “woman card” would provide enough cover to simply duck away from this onslaught, but The Donald always had the Trump Card.
If nothing else, The Donald has blown apart the conventional way by which politics has been played in this country since the 1930’s.
I don’t think that Hillary would ever do anything to benefit anyone but herself. That is all she has done her entire life. She will fight for the Presidency until the end. She will bow out for no one.
It’s her psychosis to desire ultimate power to “fix things” and get revenge on her “enemies”.

The problem for the left and for the anti-Trump people, is that Trump’s been a pop icon since the 80’s. He’s been in the public consciousness and known to millions of people for so long that you can’t just make up crap about him. It doesn’t square with his engrained public perception
I was listening to Chris Plante on WMAL this morning. He was talking about CNN sending a reporter to get numbers for the presidential candidates.
Reporter went to Logan County, WVA because it is 6 to 1 Democrat. He could not find one person who would admit they were going to vote for Clinton in November.

Trump has close to 20 million social media subscribers. One message sent gets to 40-60 million people in a matter of hours. Trump can reply plenty fast.
In 3 months he will have close to 25 million social media subscribers where a message can get diffused to 50-75 million subscribers.
No way Trump gets stifled.
