The Washington Post published an article listing five candidates likely to be considered to be Trump's vice president. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa is on that list.
Ernst is Iowa's first female U.S. Senator. Ernst was not well known When she ran for the senate seat vacated by the retiring Tom Harkin.
KWWL-TV caught up with Ernst and asked if she would consider serving as Donald Trump's vice president. "I would say, 'did my mother pay you to say that?', Ernst said. "But, no. I would have to consider it, but I love what I do in the United States Senate, and I love working with Iowans."
Ernst says she hasn't heard from the Trump campaign. She says she won't endorse a candidate anytime soon.

I have examined the records, for years. Trump is more conservative than Cruz by a long shot. Nationalism...otherwise known as patriotism...is the backbone of conservatism. Cruz is a globalist, which is the opposite of conservative Globalism is, by its very nature, destructive of American Sovereignty. America first for me. ONLY Trump believes that America should remain independent and rely on our Constitution only and NOT some supreme global authority.
He is articulate and energetic and he endorsed Mitch McConnell for re-election...
She is far too green. I really know nothing about her. We need Newt Gingrich.
“Ted Cruz is a conservative LBJ.”
Cruz is a Canadian born son of a Castro supporting Cuban with a Messiah complex whose ‘conservative values’ turn out to be nothing more than sheep’s clothing over a globalist agenda.
“Totally agree! Allen West would be a great choice!”
West is slotted for the Department of Defense. Round peg in a round hole. Trump knows how to use people to their best advantage. The VP has no real duties except being the President of the Senate.....Trump will put a round peg in that round hole too!
Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
One just has to look at where Vice President GHW Bush ended up to realize that isn't entirely true.
Unlike Reagan, Trump will probably have free reign as to his VP, and he won't chose someone who doesn't share his dream.
“...and Trump in his all knowingness would have simply said, Cruz isnt eligible so there is no point on wasting energy on him...
Trump refers to Ted’s ineligibility every so often. Article II was written to keep people like Cruz from the Presidency.
Read ASA Vet’s “about page.” Get educated and stop with the foreigner for President meme that seems to be so popular in the past 3 election cycles. Take Jindal and Rubio with you. (2 equally ineligible candidates.) Obama’s illegitimate time in Office, against the wisdom of the Founders, is proof of that wisdom, so STOP already!
“John Bolton for Defense Secretary,”
Scratching my head on that one! Try State Dept!
State Department is a far better fit for Bolton, indeed.
Jeff Sessions would be great. Just run on the existential stuff and tell the people they can have a woman for president or vp after the country is rescued. No time for that silliness right now.
You are correct, she has already proven to be a big time rino.
Your choices are really good, but in light of what he could do for the current campaign and who would follow Trump, Trump should pick Allen West.
Allen West was ultimately ruined by GOP-e led treachery in Florida, even while very popular.
WOW, talk about a powerful ticket.
America does not deserve Allen West though.
West would draw back large numbers Cruz supporters and social conservatives, as well as big numbers of military.
Good choice as well
Allen West comes to mind....................... Ditto, but he’d also make a great Sect’y of Defense. I don’t think he’s vindictive enough to go after those who tried to screw him, but he would smell out the perfumed princes and those 700 dollar hammers. BTW, he’s a racist! He bought fried chicken sandwiches for a Black Caucus luncheon, and boy were they pissed. If he was the VP it would bring tears of joy to my eyes.
DACA is illegal. Obama has no legal authority to legalize illegal aliens. But he is doing it because we have no opposition party thanks to their fealty to The Cheap Labor Express.
A real opposition party would have sued in court for an injunction like the states did to stop his next usurpation, DAPA, which is now dead in the water.
Instead of siding with the rule of law and the citizens of this country, they side with fraudulently documented foreigners.
I figured from past picks that the dog had the clairvoyance needed for the pick.
Ernst is not VP material. Chris Christie is. So is Marco Rubio.Joe Arpaio is more VP than Earnst. Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer would be much better than Earnst.
And who do you support that has the military resume of Joni Ernst?
I THINK either one would be good. Trump is a very good judge of talent.
I am quite sure it won’t be John Kasich.
Seriously how about:
Condi Rice
Newt
