Internal documents show Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump's campaign advisers are projecting that the billionaire businessman will secure more than 1,400 delegates at the Republican National Convention in July, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
That total greatly exceeds the 1,237 delegates necessary to secure the nomination on the first ballot.
The projection was in an internal campaign memo sent to Trump surrogates Tuesday night, after Trump secured a convincing win in the New York primary. It called the front-runner's win in New York "YUGE" and included talking points to use in media interviews.
It advised the surrogates to talk about the "rigged" primary process and to slam the Republican National Committee (RNC).
"The RNC has a lot to answer for as do those who are part of the donor class and the party establishment," the memo said.
"This movement scares the hell out of them and the people scare them, so they will do whatever they can to keep power."
The memo also slams presidential rival Ted Cruz. Trump conspicuously didn't reference his usual nickname of "Lyin' Ted" on Tuesday night after winning the New York primary.
"The Cruz spin machine produces more lies than anything else," the memo said.
It also includes talking points about policy issues and advises people to reference Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton's email scandal moving forward into the general election.
"Hillary email scandal is going to loom large over the next several months. If anyone else had done what she had done, they would already be in prison," it advised people to say of Clinton.
The Associated Press said Wednesday that Cruz was mathematically eliminated from securing the nomination on the first ballot, making Trump the only candidate who could get the nomination before the convention in July.
"We are headed to a contested convention at this point," Cruz said Wednesday.
"Nobody is getting to 1,237," he told Philadelphia radio host Chris Stigall.
GOP presidential candidate John Kasich has long predicted a contested convention.
Trump currently has 845 delegates, followed by Cruz with 559 and Kasich with 147, according to The Associated Press.
Like Bill Parcells once said:
” you are what your record says you are.”
If Donald Trump gets 1237 delegates he is the nominee.
Boy, I sure don’t want to lose Governor Walker - but if it’ll delay the demise of America by a few years, I’m in. ;)
Made another donation to Cruz tonight.
I’ll be joining the campaign in two weeks in California.
So much for your theory.
Sounds like common core math that is used by the taliban when reporting how many afghan policemen and soldiers they have killed.
Why? Rubio has more delegates than Kaisich.....
BTW, did you know Kaisich’s father was a mailman?
That map of the south, my new home, makes me proud!
I imagine that most of the states that haven’t voted yet will start to swing to Trump.
If your only choice is a candidate that can win with your vote or one that can never win with your vote, and threatens to tear the party apart, steal delegates away from the will of the voters, and hand the country to Hillary, common sense will prevail.
But what if the great zero pardons her in advance through one of his exec orders? Would Mr Trump be able to override that?
Go Trump!!!

So you want a brokered convention where the deals are cut in the smoke filled back rooms with the doors closed? What makes you think it will be Cruz they select?
My guess is there is so much CRAP to investigate with Hillary, so many charges yet to be uncovered regarding that phony corporation and her cripple dick husband... that even if OBAMA pardoned her for all her crimes, that corporation would end up doing her in.
there is no statute of limitations on murder. my guess is there are people that will come forward after a blanket pardon, and issue new charges previously undiscovered and beyond any blanket pardon terms, that she would be charged one way or another.
And if she doesn’t fulfill her promises to the corrupt leaders of the world with whom she has ‘made deals’ I doubt she will escape THEIR judgement or punishment... presidential pardon or not.
IF one were to have cut a deal with the drug cartels and the islamaniacs, and then NOT fully satisfied their “agreement”... those clients will do the contract breaker like Benghazi, with a Colombian necktie... or a polonium enema.
I think trump would find a way to “protect” hillary... at friggin Gitmo.
You forgot the orange dot for DC. Rubio took D.C. in a Cruzian landslide. Never forget.
There will be no whining and moaning ala Cruz, there will be rejoicing and hallelujahs and jubilees amongst those of us that have sifted through the dross that is the 2016 campaign.
Let’s Trump to the top and expiate the Democrat foe.
>>He gave his thinking which is Jonestownian. Hes become a kamikaze. He was like that in the Senate so it should surprise no one.<<

Very interesting insight.
Worth taking a pause and mulling this one over a bit, given the magnitude of the office.
Polls say Kasich beats her, but the polls cannot be right in that regard.
There is also the poll that says 25% of Sanders voters will not vote for Hillary. There are going to be enough upset commies that it will shave at least a few percent off her totals. Some may even vote for Trump just to make a statement.
Good work, Jeff Head
Pretty compelling...unless one is satisfied with letting the GOPe choose the nominee.
So Cruz and Kasich need to collect more than 119 delegates to prevent Trump from reaching the 1400 number.
There may not be enough actual voters who want a contested convention — which essentially surrenders their voting rights to the party insiders — to add up to 120.
That doesn’t even count Rubio and Carson delegates. If Rubio moves his status from “suspended” to “withdrawn”, how many of his delegates are then released to vote Trump on a first ballot ? Did Carson just “suspend” as well ? Is anybody counting his delegates or are they just not allowed to vote on first ballot ?
After next week the bandwagon effect will be in full swing Americans love a winner
“Trump will bury Hillary in the general election......”
Hillary? Hillary who? You mean the felon headed for Federal prison?
