A bipartisan group of senators has asked NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to pull the league's 2017 All-Star game from North Carolina because of a law in that state that many say discriminates against gay and transgender people.

Sens. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Pat Leahy, D-Vt., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Mark Kirk, R-Ill., all signed onto the letter sent Tuesday. Kirk is the only Republican signed onto the letter and is running for reelection this year.

When we voted in a republican governor.
It’s currently Kirk vs. Duckworth - both are useless
Haven’t most of you republican governors been pretty useless?
Interesting concept. But what about restrooms in schools, hospitals, and government buildings?
So it’s OK for the NBA and The Boss to refuse to perform in NC, but it’s not OK for a Bakery to refuse to perform *and* it is OK for perverts to use the women’s restroom?
This liberal stuff is so confusing.
Hamilton was for ‘big banks’, but guess what? When we chopped up our banking system it made runs on banks much easier while Canadian banks remained rock solid during the Great Depression.
It’s a fundamental truth about banking — larger is safer and in turn increases peoples’ confidence in it.
But true, Hamilton was not perfect. He was merely the most brilliant economist of his time who drew the blueprints for the most amazing economic revolution in history.
And the Free World can thank Hamilton for paving the way for our military. If we didn’t have a socialist-loving mindset during world war two our nuclear bomb monopoly would have led to world peace.
But yes, Hamilton did have his flaws.
Uuups. Someone else criticized Hamilton. Sorry.
That's going to be a problem if these moronic liberals get their way and allow men in womens restrooms. Architects need to design future buildings with personalized individual stalls that lock, am already seeing that in some restaurants. Firehouse Subs has an individual room that locks for both Men and Womens restrooms. Already eat there since they serve good food, going forward the restroom setup is another attractive quality of that franchise.
This is what happens when you try to apply laws where common sense should rule. Businesses should be able to set their restroom rules however they see fit. Stay out, state.
It was the mayor of Charlotte, Jennifer Roberts who pushed this. She and her buddy, a registered sex offender, pushed the 'open the showers and ladies rooms to anybody' who says they feel like a woman.
She was warned that it would be overturned but she and her deranged friends saw the perfect opportunity to get the Republican legislature trashed in the media.
Yep
If and when Mike Madigan is removed, things might improve...until then, the freak runs the show.
‘Architects need to design future buildings with personalized individual stalls that lock ...’
Insanity. The entire thing is madness. People now need to beg for keys. Holding a bathroom key is a health risk, especially when a restaurant manager hands you a cup after touching one of those keys.
Such ‘joy’.
Another problem is safety regulations in buildings. To make a bathroom stall safe enough might violate building codes due to the possibility of medical emergencies.
The kind of lock I’m talking about is the button inside the door handle that you push in from inside the restroom. Many public restrooms already have doors that lock this way. For instance Firehouse Subs Womens restroom is one big room with the door locking from the inside.
I just cancelled my Pay-Pal this morning. I called their office to cancel, they asked me why to cancel (which is why I called), and I said due to their decision to pull business out of North Carolina.
Some SJW on twitter was saying things like "Paypal doesn't care if you guys cancel, they don't need your money"!
But *I* care. It's about staying true to my values. Something a SJW would never understand. (To a SJW, if you don't have a mob behind you it is not worth doing).
Locking from inside is fine if a rescue worker can enter from above or below the stall, but you are going to need some kind of security sensor that goes off if a breakable barrier is set in place. Of course, vandals might have loads of fun with that kind of thing.
All needless expense regardless if we tell the freaks to behave themselves. Women don’t mind wearing mens’ clothes. Wardrobe confusion is clearly a mental disorder.
Here’s another problem — women aren’t safe at the sink either.
It’s not just the bathroom stalls.
They need to be cloistered completely from predators-in-drag. They need their own paper towel dispenser and their own exit into the public.
A predator can drag a woman into a stall and then lock it from inside.
Think.
This is an issue where the men are going to have to intervene and not allow this nonsense to go forward. Men must protect the women, this is a line that cannot be crossed.
