Republican delegates are not going to be likely to support either Donald Trump or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz when they get to the party's national convention in July, Ohio Gov. John Kasich said on Sunday.

"Here's what's interesting," Kasich said, suggesting that he was prepared to go down in history. "I am the second choice of both the Cruz people and also the Trump people. As you know, we've had 10 contested conventions, and only three times has the front-runner won. I don't want to go back in history too far, but I think old Honest Abe went into the convention either third or fourth and came out the winner. So we'll see."

Cruz is rapidly becoming the most despised republican politician in America. He is a liar, corrupt to the core and as dirty as can be.
I will never say never because I know Jim frowns on staying home when the result will be Hillary or Bernie.
But I’d have to get a strong bottle of whiskey.

We have been warned again and again that the establishment will subvert BOTH Cruz and Trump.
We aren’t listening.
Here it is being said again by a card carrying member of the establishment.

There are those who would rather lose control of the nation than to lose control of the party. They lack a sense of smell, especially now in the early morning hours.
Soros-funded. War with Russia, at least a cold war because Russia threw Soros and his open society out of the country.
Oh and let’s go confront China in the south china sea too.
This guy has a warrior approach to ending the US. Same as Obama, just a different way.
PS Apparently lived with a gay man for 14 years in DC.
And then promptly plunged the country into a bloody civil war.
Because we're talking about Establishment-picked DELEGATES, not primary voters. Pay attention. The delegates that are supposed to be "bound" to Trump are Establishment-picked. They will be traitors.
I am confused. If Cruz is GOPe then why wouldn’t they support him at the convention.
I really believe that Cruz will only be around long enough to stop Trump. Once that's accomplished, he'll be treated the way the dems treated Cindy Sheehan when they were done with her.
You're right that all Cruz will be known for will be that he stopped Trump then disappeared from the political scene.
I think McConnell has made a deal with Cruz: "Help us sink Trump, and you can retain your Senate seat. Cross us, and you will never hold elective office again."
I think it gets less reciprocal every day, too much corner cutting like Colorado. Personally I’d like to see it fair and square. Trump won South Carolina- the true test, then Super Tuesday. Cruz has Texas and Oklahoma and a bunch of odd ducks. Cruz would lose 40 states. Trump deserves a chance to try and win NY MI NJ and carry the nation IMHO.
Agree. For me, the GOP are history. After our primary in CA, in which I will vote trump, I leave the republican part registration roles.
LOL very true! If you go lurk over at DU, you'll see Kasich's name frequently mentioned on "Republican presidents that wouldn't be too bad" queries.
After the first ballot, 60% of the delegates overcome unbound, ad they don’t have too vote for the candidate that won the primaries. It’s going to come down to who has been working hard on the delegate selection. Trump hasn’t. Cruz has.
Trump on the first ballot. No need to hear it here first, everyone already knows it.
None of these smoke and mirrors shows matter. It’s about who the GOPe wants and Cruz is the stooge stalking horse making it possible for a Ryan Kasick ticket coming out of Cleveland.
Luckily, Trump has the resources, appeal, and voter base to pull off a victory against those LOSERS and Hitlery in a 3 way race.
Can’t wait to see Cruz’s face when his also ran, second place finish is tossed aside for the 3rd place guy. Maybe it will wake his worshippers up too. But I doubt it.
The numbers don’t add up, Joe.
I can work hard on building a house, but if all I have is excavation done, then I don’t have a house.
Cruz doesn’t even have 1237 for the first ballot. ALL other delegates are NOT his other than the ones he’s personally won.
He will make some kind of deal with them and with others, but who says someone else won’t make a better deal? There is no place in the rules that says that if you make a deal that you are legally bound to follow through. I’ve not heard anything about ‘deal contracts’. Have you?
And I’ve heard that he’s picked off a few here, a dozen there, and that’s about it....maybe about a hundred or so by now. If he only has 550 and you say he only keeps 350 or so of those on the second ballot, then the mountain is even steeper. His 100 or so ‘steals’ means nothing to the 200 that he’s going to lose by the process itself.
Steep, steep mountain, and you’ve just evidenced it yourself. As the insiders are saying, if one of the candidates doesn’t win this on the first ballot, then neither Trump nor Cruz are coming out the nominee.
Kasich just confirmed that again. There’s a report I saw this morning — real clear politics, I believe — that says that senators STILL will not line up behind Cruz.
What’s that tell you?
So does Cruz’s dream die, he hasn’t made the 40(b) cut and can’t.
Trump already has the required wins and will more states in the next month.
