In recent years the U.S. has been steadily traversing down a path of destruction. While many Americans have begun to open their eyes to Americas plight, most are still oblivious to the factors that led to our downfall. Recently, the media has been touting recovery, but there are numerous urgent changes that need to be implemented before the U.S. can even think that we are emerging from todays recession/depression.
The New Depression
The economic decline in the United States began long before the official beginning of the recession in December 2007. The U.S. is not merely experiencing a down cycle. Very simply put, we are no longer producing wealth. Our balance-of trade deficit is constantly on the rise, Americans individually are living beyond their means and the government has followed suit. We are forced to live on imports and debt at every level as we no longer produce enough in our own factories to support ourselves. To make matters worse, we are losing over 20,000 jobs a day as our factories are closed, sold or bankrupted.
Free Trade is Destroying Us
The American media favors free trade almost unflinchingly, despite the fact that even a cursory overview of global economies shows that no nation is being more adversely affected by this practice than the U.S.
The U.S. is oppressed by the chains of free trade through treaties like the North America Free Trade Agreement, undemocratic and secretive trade regimes like the World Trade Organization and border tax inequities allowed by the WTO, such as the Value-Added Tax, which is utilized by 150 of Americas economic competitors.

And they even import foreign labor, which, per hour, often costs the same or more. BUT they are contract labor, so no benefits, limited time-of-engagement, etc.
Might add that one to your excellent list.
At this point, we are merely shuffling the chairs on the Titanic.
But I still want DT at the helm rather than Hillary when this thing goes down. And it may even before then.
yep
In the words of Ross Perot about NAFTA....
“That giant sucking sound”- of our economy going down the drain.
What was that....30 years ago?
Add 6&7: Implement socialism and an oligarchical U.S. Government controlled by the very agreeable political parties.
Socialism means that those (families) who are already rich will remain rich in perpetuity - it introduces sclerosis into society. This is why so many of the very wealthy in business are socialists. It is protection in perpetuity. If you are born a peasant, you will remain for life a peasant. If you are born in wealth and privilege, you and your offspring will retain that status forever under socialism. Socialism takes away any opportunity for competition.
And the oligarchy is what we see in this election. A closed club where entry is closely regulated and requires that you can not be independent in any way. You must be good and well bought, beholden to those who pay your political bills and make you rich and give you status. Good little political whores only please. And the oligarchy will govern and destroy with impunity anyone who dares try to upset their system.

Agreed.
>> If I’m misguided tell me how. I want to know the truth.\
My post explains most of it. There is a movement to change America. The corporations want it because of our strong puritan work ethic. But they aren’t willing to pay us for that superior work ethic, so they think they can drag us down to just above third world status and then we’ll work just as hard for almost nothing. Furthermore, they want socialism because then the government will pick up the tab for “benefits”.
But they are short-sighted. they’ve brought so much third world culture into our nation that the American work ethic is mostly dead in the Millenials, so they will only get angry, surly third worlders with high expectations.
But, they can wait us out because the rest of the world will do the work cheaply for as long as we hold out.

I agree. The damage is done. The ship is sunk, but it just isn’t underwater yet. I want DT at the helm when we need to take to lifeboats because the Progressives will certainly rescue the useless. DT might just work to rescue the productive.
You can't forget the role of the minimum wage, making it cost-prohibitive to hire the least-skilled workers. In addition, the minimum wage incentivizes companies to hire illegal aliens under the table, which also decreases the overhead from social security, medicare, and payroll taxes.
A lot of things need to change to get the economy back up on its feet. Trump understands that. No other candidate apparently knows or cares.

Absolutely! I just didn’t add 6 and 7 because I was only talking about the business aspects. The socialism and oligarchy (or “Capitalism for me, Socialism for Thee”) are the end result of this because the multi-nationals win big under 21st century socialism (which is quite different from previous versions).
Let me add the abomination that IS public school “education”.
Government “education” is the root and seed of what ails America.
I do believe it; I have believed it since I first learned what NAFTA is (circa 1996, as I recall).
While I have listened extensively to “right-wing” pundits like Limbaugh over the years, I have inexorably become more and more distrusting of both their conservatism and integrity.
I recall how Rush and others denounced someone like myself as a radical leftist for opposing NAFTA. Now that we see the destruction before us, where is Limbaugh (or Hannity, or anyone else) admitting that he was wrong, and that he helped damage true conservatism by promoting such a globalist agenda.
If any of them has admitted his complicity, then I missed it (and I have listened for it).
More and more, I regard them all as crypto-neocons - and neocons are only cons in the criminal sense.
I think our retirement accounts will be raided...
I think every single song on the radio, tv show or movie or magazine etc will be controlled by govt overseers and many will go to jail for it...
we will be persecuted...
But they’re not going to let us have DT. So plan B is?
>>But theyre not going to let us have DT. So plan B is?
Socialism, the Tyranny of the Idiocracy, Slavery to the Multinationals, whatever. The US, as it was intended to be, ceases to exist and we continue to trudge on until we die or Christ returns.
DT failed the ideological purity test on being the Perfect Conservative, the Perfect Pro-Lifer, and the Perfect Evangelical. So, the purists in those three groups will work tirelessly to see him destroyed and the GOP will hand us Romney and tell us that he is not perfect either, but that we MUST vote for him. Romney will lose and the Progressive movement moves on.
If you have children or grandchildren, I feel bad for you because they will suffer greatly due to the actions of these selfish purists.
Hmmm! Wonder which so called conservative talk show hosts for decades have been telling us that lie?
The Donald didn’t even pass the test on being Somewhat Conservative, Somewhat Pro-Life or Somewhat Evangelical much less the “Perfect” one of any of the three. Of course he thinks he’s Perfect on everything so I guess that’s all that matters.
Paul Craig Roberts is a solid conservative. Pat Choate I now less about but he seems to be an American patriot. Now is there something in particular in the CONTENT of this article that you object to? Or are you just doing a drive by.
