Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday slammed rival Ted Cruz for the recent ad produced by an anti-Trump super-PAC featuring a photo of Trump's wife posing nude.
"From what I hear, he and his campaign went out and bought the cover shoot. Melania did a cover story for 'GQ,' a very strong modeling picture. No big deal," Trump said on ABC's "This Week."
"But it was a cover story for 'GQ,' a big magazine. And it was, you know, fine. And from what I hear, somebody bought the rights to it and he was the one or his campaign bought the rights and they gave it to the super PAC."
Trump said Cruz knew about the ad, adding he started the latest fight between the two. Last week, Trump threatened to "spill the beans" on Cruz's wife in response to the ad featuring Melania Trump. He then shared a tweet featuring a photo of his wife next to a photo of Cruz's wife, stating, "A picture is worth a thousands words."
Cruz has denied knowing anything about the ad, and called it deplorable on Sunday.
But Trump said the super PAC that produced the ad is "very friendly to Ted Cruz."
"He knew all about it, 100 percent," he said.
"There's no way in a million years that super PAC did that without his absolute knowledge."
No, it is not going to make us vote for someone else. I do not see anything wrong with it. People compare photos of others all the time. Most people have no idea what either of them look like.
Give a source for Jeff Roe buyin or you be lyin.
that’s really childish and terrible.
I was brought up differently.
we shall see what happens.
i’m hoping people see what really important right now and not some silly comments he made.
Yes, zero evidence that the allegation is true.
And 100% confirmation that Trump approves of his wife’s “very strong” “no big deal” public nudity. Which, in a time of sanity, would make FR heads explode.
I would not put that past him, either.
From what I hear, he and his campaign went out and bought the cover shoot
Liz Mair has been connected to the Cruz campaign in the past. Is she not the one who went to the Carly campaign along with the $500K? I am going to need a score card.>>> i think they two pacs share the same address. maybe a processing lock box company?
I agree. My daughter met Melania and Donald through work years ago. Daughter said Melania is even more beautiful in person and very gracious.
There’s a difference between nude modeling and inferring that the model is a slut.
Can you give me his cell number?
So if you just retweet something nasty, but don’t compose it yourself, it’s OK?
Kind of like King’s X for grown-ups?
I’d be interested, sincerely, in what that difference is.
As far as I’m concerned, someone who takes their clothes off to be photographed for money is skating mighty close to the edge.
But that’s just my conservatism showing.
“I saw that picture on FreeRepublic three months ago.”
Okay, but did it have “or you could vote for Cruz” emblazoned on it then?
Otherwise, all the data you just posted is an unrelated diversion / tactic.
What I mean is, if it’s a simple as you say, just giving him a call, I’ll give Don a buzz and ask him if he’ll call his lawyer and authorize him to release the evidence.
You know, evidence—not hearsay “I’ve heard ...”
If Melania thought it was OK to pose in the nude why does Donald care if anyone uses the photo? Isnt she proud of it?>>> they published that fact that foreign born, nude, and donald’s multiple marriages disqualifies her from being first lady. that was the meme and the liz mair ad. i think the gope cooked it up. and tarred both cruz and trump.
Do I want a President who was the first to have a strip joint in his Casino - No. Do I want a First Lady that has posed in the nude? - No. These facts should not be hidden from the voters when they're deciding on a candidate. Whoever is responsible for using this photo did the American voter a service.
And generally most campaign ads are subbed out to a video studio.
This does not pass the smell test unless you are a Sleazy Donald follower that, like Sleazy Donald himself, believes everything he reads on the Internet.
