Emory University Erupts In Protests After Someone Writes "Trump 2016" In Sidewalk Chalk

Hey,

I am a student at Emory and yesterday, March 21st, someone had written Trump in chalk hundreds of times on campus. Some people apparently were OFFENDED that someone wrote Trump 2016 in CHALK so these 50 people were protesting in the DUC…absolutely ridiculous. Today the president sent this email. Really hoped shit like this wouldn’t happen here but this is why nobody respects college students I guess.

*snip*

Dear Emory Community,

Yesterday I received a visit from 40 to 50 student protesters upset by the unexpected chalkings on campus sidewalks and some buildings yesterday morning, in this case referencing Donald Trump. The students shared with me their concern that these messages were meant to intimidate rather than merely to advocate for a particular candidate, having appeared outside of the context of a Georgia election or campus campaign activity. During our conversation, they voiced their genuine concern and pain in the face of this perceived intimidation.

After meeting with our students, I cannot dismiss their expression of feelings and concern as motivated only by political preference or over-sensitivity.

*snip*

Sincerely, Jim Wagner (President)

What do people expect at a black college...they are controlled by Democrats.

It's not a "black college" It has Indians, Whites, Blacks Asians and Hispanics.

I've attended student orchestra recitals many times. Good times.

I think micro aggression has over taken me! Not sure what that is, but I am sure that a safe place is my only hope.

Emory. Located in one of the top ten “Future Detroits”.

Yup, send your little chillins there...they’ll obviously be in good hands.

College students in the country these days are incredibly stupid and easily manipulated, apparently.

More proof that the education system in this country is a failure.

According to the perpetually aggrieved students they were “bullied” by having to read Trump’s name and each of them secretly envisioned an “or else” after it, which made them feel threatened.

They immediately drew up a petition to ban the 1st Amendment for anyone and everyone who doesn’t think like they do.

What? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't Georgia in the United States? And isn't Trump running for President of the United States? And don't college students vote in the election for President of the United States that's taking place in Georgia as well as all the other 49 - sorry, 56 - states?

Dang, I thought I knew how this worked, too. Them college perfessers are too smart fer me, that's for sure.

“WHAT DO WE DO TO THWART THIS EVIL?”
Oh, but it is so simple. First, we require background checks on anyone wanting to buy chalk. Then, we require the manufacturers of the chalk add something into the chalk to allow for tracking the perps. Of course, we can’t allow the sale or distribution of high capacity chalk boxes. Nor, can we allow the sale of large caliber chalk. I just don’t know why anyone needs large caliber chalk in this day and age. We have computers and cell phones for communications. Why do we need chalk. Ban it now. Establish a registry for all chalk users. Chalk users are evil. It’s for the children.

Just to let everyone know they are planning legislation against large capacity chalk boxes and I am anticipating there being a CHALK SHORTAGE due to the rising popularity of the Evil Donald Trump. I have already noticed the shelves bare in several stores around so I am encouraging everyone to snatch up as muck chalk as you can.

Its our most effective weapon on college campi.

What a putz and a tyrant!

Jim Wagner is trying to bully and intimidate Emory students freedom of speech with his position.

Anyhow, LEGALLY SPEAKING since he is the President then he is a representative of the University. Hence, Jim Wagner is i violation the LAW. You can not legally shut down students Right of Free Speech because you fear someone.

That can get him some prison time too if he is not careful. Without a doubt the is 100% out of line. Jim is so stupid he put it in an email for all to see.

Trump is the leading POTUS candidate. Any suppression of that is a felony.

I say time to lawyer up and embarrass this guy. What a pathetic weak thug.

Let’s play “guess the academic major” of those who are offended.

I’d bet most have the suffix “Studies”.
