Former Speaker John Boehner endorsed Paul Ryan for president today – the day after Donald Trump won 4 of 5 states in Super Tuesday 2.0.
The elites don’t give a damn about the Republican base and this is more proof.
The Politico reported:
Former Speaker John Boehner said Paul Ryan should be the Republican nominee for president if the party fails to choose a candidate on the first ballot.
“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” Boehner said at the Futures Industry Association conference here. “They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I’m for none of the above. I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee.”
Wading into the GOP nominating battle for the first time since leaving office last fall, Boehner said that “anybody can be nominated” at the convention in Cleveland this summer.
Boehner, who now splits his time between Florida, Ohio and D.C., had long whispered to friends that he believes Ryan could be the party’s political savior if it came to that.
But Boehner never said it publicly until now.

I am not too concerned about anything a failed Speaker with a lousy legacy has to say about this election. He simply misses being in the spotlight - the Attention-Whore-gene is big in this one...
Yes, I think you’re correct in your thinking. Donald mentions talking to Paul Ryan at every election night speech. He is giving us the impression that he has open conversation with Ryan. When Ryan tries to act like he’s not part of a back door deal it will really look bad on Ryan’s part.
Hey, Boehner and Ryan! Someone sent me a video that has you in it and sends a message to you and your Cabal friends. You won’t like it, but I bet a lot of anti-Establishment FReepers will, you sick, twisted, and VERY clueless morons.

To FReepers, if you don’t have time to watch it (it’s about 7 min, i think), then at least watch the ending where Trump sends a message to Boehner and his cronies. It was priceless.
At about 6:50 or so, it shows one of the Trump rallies in Mississippi. Seated behind Trump in the seat of honor — in full view of the cameras in case the GOPe was watching — was his MS campaign manager, MS lawyer Mitch Tyner. The pics shown here are when both Trump and his son turned around and acknowledged Tyner in the crowd.
MS lawyer Mitch Tyner was Chris McDaniel’s lawyer in 2014 when the GOPe had stolen the MS Senatorial primary runoff election (for incumbent Thad Cochran).
I’m pretty much convinced that Trump plans his steps far ahead. You know what they say: It’s easy to underestimate an apparent “dumb blond.” ;-)
“...This is The Onion, right?...”
Nah... it’s the Spineless Drunk with the Canned Tan.
** The GOPe did not believe the first shot across the bow with Cantor being thrown out & they continue to ignore the warning signs .... more beat down coming if they try any Jeb! or Ryan stunts.**
I think that video i just posted has Eric Cantor in it. Just FYI.
Surely nobody takes Boehner seriously?
I just posted this on another thread but it belongs here. When i wrote it a few minutes ago, i hadn’t heard this news about Ryan. Now it’s even MORE relevant...
A brokered convention is the only option the Uniparty has now. Their sole motivation is to preserve their Elite status, thus they must prevent any outsider from invading their personal inside-the-beltway space. If they want to prevent a disruption of the elite ruling class that could result from a Trump presidency, they must convince all those in the #NeverTrump camp to climb aboard. Online Psyops 101 will be in full force for the next few months.
Im not 100% pro-Trump. Not even close. Even though hes solid on the things that matter immigration, SC picks, 2A, pro-military but not to the point of being pro-war, pro-life, fair trade, very pro-USA & very anti-globalist there are still things about him that I DONT like. At this point, though, hes the only candidate with the innate ability to stare down his opponent until his opponent gives up and slithers away. He has done that in business for years, and hes the only one who can and WILL do it to Hillary.
Our country is at a crossroads, imo, one that is crucial for our survival. If we allow the Uniparty to take us down their globalist road, well never find our way back. And if were totally realistic with ourselves, neither of the other 2 candidates can get to the magic delegate number by July. Once you accept that reality, only one conclusion can be made:
If Kasich and Cruz are as pro-USA and pro-Constitution as they claim to be and Im talking strong enough to overrule their own personal self-ambition then both of them would get behind the front-runner and spend the remaining primary time & money on beating Hillary.
Put more simply, Kasich is Kasich. You can look at the ticker-tape parade he gave himself last night and clearly see hes obsessed with being President, USA be damned. Besides, he does what the Uniparty tells him to do (which explains his constant assertions to the contrary).
As for Ted Cruz, if is actually who he claims to be, anti-Establishment and pro-Constitution, then he will set aside his personal self-ambition for a few years and get behind the Uniparty Steamroller. He is young and should have a bright future ahead of him. And if Cruz cannot see this, my only question is WHY? We KNOW why Kasich cant see it - hes self-absorbed and has been obsessed with being President for half his life.
For Ted Cruz, the choice will eventually be made for him if this results in a brokered convention. He will be cast aside by the Uniparty (assuming hes not actually one of them.) So the only question in my mind is whether or not he will be wise and choose his own destiny. NOW. Before its too late.
John Boehner’s power was thrown away...this insane statement is his way of getting attention from the press.
It’s pathetic.
Pyles.
** I think Mitch & Ryan were telling Trump to dial down the heat & wanting him to take responsibility for the violence at rallies, but Trump put his own spin on it & cast the conversations as a positive. **
If true, then I interpret that as Trump giving them every opportunity to come to their senses before they rip this country apart.
** John, wouldnt it be simpler to endorse Hillary Clinton? **
LOL. Good one.
If true, then I interpret that as Trump giving them every opportunity to come to their senses before they rip this country apart.

Agree!
This would mean at a brokered convention either Romney or Ryan would legally be acceptable if the establishment wanted to railroad them through as the nominee.
Bartender! Another round of STFU for the orange drunk in the corner.
Johnnie is celebrating St. Patty’s day a couple days early.
Good thing the people of Ohio have the Buckeyes football team and maybe the Cavs as winners because their politics produce a bunch of losers and knotheads.
and switches his tie color from pink to green.
Drunkin Boner
Yeah......that will work!
ROTFLOL!!
ifinnegan: “Rule 40 will be done away with before the nomination process.”
RitaOK: “Exactly. That will be the shot heard round the world when the still Romney Rules Committee advances a Rules change prior to the delegates assembly in Convention.”
Don’t fall victim to the misinformation & fear mongering about RNC Rules. Know that the Convention Rules Committee consists of delegates elected to this convention. They propose whatever rule changes they believe are necessary for this convention. All amendments to the rules made by the Convention Rules Committee must then be approved on the floor of the convention by the entire delegation to prevent hijacking and such.
So to your point, this convention’s rules committee can reverse or amend those rules that Romney loyalists had put in for the 2012 convention.
