Marco Rubio’s campaign says supporters of the Florida senator should back John Kasich in Ohio on Tuesday if they want to stop Donald Trump.
“If you are a Republican primary voter in Ohio and you want to defeat Donald Trump, your best chance in Ohio is John Kasich,” Alex Conant, Rubio’s communications director, told CNN.
“The same is true here in Florida,” Conant said, emphasizing that Rubio is the candidate best positioned to beat the real-estate mogul in the state’s primary Tuesday for its 99 winner-take-all delegates.
“Yes, my answer is John Kasich is the one candidate in Ohio that can beat Donald Trump,” Conant said when pressed on whether he was asking Rubio supporters to back Kasich in the governor’s state. “That’s stating the obvious.”

I think at least Kasich would, if the FL race was close enough. I don't think Cruz would, he's the "designated survivor."
If Trump gets Ohio and Florida, the pundits will declare the primary season over. If Kasich takes Ohio and Cruz takes Missouri, all GOPe efforts will migrate to Cruz.
Kasich says as soon as he wins Ohio he will win all the way, lol. He was gleeful at the prospect of a brokered convention, saying that is how politics really works. Funny, I thought the nomination process was letting the people decide.
This is a pathetic message. Pathetic and despite sounding. It will go over ever bit as well as when the GOPe put Rubio’s into “attack mode”.
As a historian, this is absolutely unprecedented. Never in our history have candidates aligned out of a desire to stop another as opposed to getting something for themselves (one thinks of the “corrupt bargain” with Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams, but Clay got the stepping stone to the presidency, the Secretary of State position).
At the very least they should be ashamed of themselves for stifling the will of so many voters-—several million at this point.
Do they really think their supporters are mind numbed robots......
So if he is tossing away votes in Ohio, maybe those in Florida should too...

Never in my life have I even *heard* of a running candidate encouraging his supporters to vote for the opposition just to tank another candidate.
NEVER.
This is revolting.
Right let the establishment not the honest voters elect our nominee. Guess we can see you support the same thing we have had for years. Sad!

Was there a Jeb, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich meeting? I am begining to intently dislike 3 of them. Kasich being in on this surprises me. I thought he was one of the good guys.
The “rank and file” includes Cruz supporters. They’ve welcomed the Bushes and Romney into their hearts. Might as well take Rubio, too. Cruz was talking about the wrong voters when he said Trump’s voters are stupid.
This blows Rubio’s chances of a job in the Trump administration.
I think Glenn is comparable to a misguided guilty pleasure.
It was a big mistake, but by combining with the GOPe, he may be able to prevent a Trump from getting the delegates he needs.
But that is all, IMO.

Romney will definitely lose to Hillary. Romney did not do a damn thing to attack Obama, and the same thing will happen with Hillary.
At this point, it is either Trump, or a GOPe candidate who will be ordered to lose to Hillary.

That's an interesting hypothetical. I don;t have a good handle on either Rubio or Cruz, in a long-term sense, other than I believe they are mostly self-serving.
Given that Cruz, Rubio and Kasich are all subscribers to #NeverTrump, I think Trump views them as persona non grata in any office of trust.
The leaders of the party are incapable of accepting disagreement with their vaunted selections. They still remain convinced they know what we should have regardless of what we want.
It is time for serious housecleaning at the RNC, top to bottom.
