Mitt Romney's speech condemning Donald Trump did little to bring down the controversial Republican presidential front-runner, according to a poll released Tuesday.
Thirty-one percent of Republican voters surveyed by Morning Consult said they are more now likely to vote for Trump, while 20 percent said they are less likely to vote for the real estate mogul. Forty-three percent said Romney's comments had no impact.
Among Trump supporters, 56 percent said they are more likely to vote for Trump after he was denounced by Romney, while 5 percent said they are less likely to vote for Trump. Thirty-six percent said their opinions were not changed.
And among those who voted for Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, his speech was less helpful in curbing support for Trump: 30 percent were more likely to vote for Trump, while 20 percent were less likely.

However it sure put the lid on Romney’s can of garbage.
Mitt is irrelevant.
well this is a shock!
The more the GOPe outs itself, the more Trump’s support grows.
That is because no one, not even us Cruz supporters, give a tinkers damn what Romney says.
But it sure hurt RINOmney.
Add to Trumps and Cruz numbers
NOW ... so close to the general, people are reminded of who is against Trump and why ... and they're remembering names
Romney shouldn't have obeyed his handlers
But .... that's the beauty of Trump ... he's doing what He believes is right and it just so happens to match up with, whatever he damned well pleases.
I am still stunned from the spectacle of the previous GOP nominee trashing the current GOP leader. This is more instructive and revealing then anything Romney actually said.
If nothing else, I think it has prevented Trump from gathering more votes. I'm not so sure it has really impacted those who had already decided to vote for him.
I think the GOP will regret this move.
It fell flat with the media and politican commentators, too.
It likely helped Trump more than it hurt him.
That has to be a slap in the face to Romney, who seems to want to be the new convention go-to guy, should no candidate get the number of delegates needed for the nomination.
That was my takeaway from Mitt Romney's performance too. What little goodwill I had left towards him (and Paul Ryan for that matter) has been replaced by loathing.
I think it was a trial balloon floated by the establishment trying to gauge the reception Romney would get if he were offered as a compromise candidate at a brokered convention. I think it failed.
Romney proves once again he is a severe idiot.
Good!!
What is Romney the spineless dork trying to prove?
Romney looked like a fool and many saw him as a mean spirted person, a sore loser.

Seems they're all on the same team now.

I posted similar in a thread right after Romney made his speech.
I also posted that the Romney supporters have floated trial balloons several times in the last 2 years and they all fell like lead balloons.
This speech could be counted as the 4th time trial balloons of Romney-rumors have circulated in this election cycle.
