I think it was a trial balloon floated by the establishment trying to gauge the reception Romney would get if he were offered as a compromise candidate at a brokered convention. I think it failed.

I posted similar in a thread right after Romney made his speech.
I also posted that the Romney supporters have floated trial balloons several times in the last 2 years and they all fell like lead balloons.
This speech could be counted as the 4th time trial balloons of Romney-rumors have circulated in this election cycle.

The plan has been and remains to be to put Bush in at the convention.
Bush said last year, “I will lose the primary and win the general.”

So the establishment is attacking Trump for failed businesses. I know that all those successful businessmen like Col Sanders had one idea and they hit it out of the ballpark. Sometimes businessmen have their Obamacare moments too.
So Mittens is the nominee. Well I won't vote for him again. And I live in California so this year I am writing in my own name. The democrats will pick up the GOPe playbook and batter Mittens with Bain fails, paying taxes, destroying companies and jobs.
The USS Mittens will never make it out of dry dock.
