Kristol Lays Out Strategy to Give White House to Hillary: Trump ‘Shouldn’t Win’
Breitbart ^ | 3/2/2016 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/02/2016 7:36:25 AM PST by lodi90

In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an “acceptable” candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).

The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.

If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBC’s Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.

As you’ll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

Trump will run 3rd party.

As a non-supporter of Trump, I never thought I'd say this... but if the GOP-e stabs him in the back like that.. he should.. and I will support him.

Much as I take issue with Trump, his state-by-state victories have been won fairly. It's one thing to try to consolidate support unto a single candidate to present a united front in the primary, but undercutting the candidate who wins that primary by backing that evil Queen Bitch of the darkside is cloak-and-dagger crap that should never be tolerated.

The GOPe would rather have Hillary and her SCOTUS appointments than their base. Wrap your head around that one.

It's almost too horrible to contemplate. Two terms, and four or five justices replaced with young leftists. The right to life dead in the water, and the Second Amendment a dusty relic we read about in the history books.

What does it say? Vote for TPA Teddy? Time to face the music, FRiend. It’s Trump or the uniparty of Kristol. Ted Cruz is up to his eyeballs in donor class money and he’ll plays ball with them. Choose wisely.

This is what the GOP has become:

"I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion. I want every man, woman and child to understand how close we are to chaos. I want everyone to remember why they need us!"

Bill Kristol is better than this. How much $$ is he getting to spew this?

I agree with him. Keep Trump under 50% and try to nominate someone else at the convention. Perfectly within the rules. If Trump has a hissy fit and looks out for himself instead of the country, then so be it. We will challenge Hillary in 4 years.

If Trump pledges to support the Republican candidate, shouldn’t the Republican establishment do the same?

Absolutely.

Kristol is a left-wing retread from the 1960s who wandered across the lines to our side, now thinks he can dictate who is an acceptable conservative from his perch in NYC.

That said, I support Cruz and not the NYC values candidate. But any dirty tricks at the convention against Trump should not be tolerated.

I would pay good money to slap that sh*t eating grin of his smarmy fat face

Whenever I see Kristol's smug joker grin, I think something a little stronger than a slap is warranted.

The anti-Trump effort being waged by the Republican Party is essentially a fight against democracy.

They do not want us to select our candidate for president!

BOL and the best observation of this day!
Trump is running 3P. Inside the GOP tent. LOL.

Thanks but I can’t take credit for it. I heard it on TV last night. I think Axelrod said it.

And, seeing who goes along with this sinister GOPee plan, here, will be telling.

First the GOPe/Open Borders propped up Jeb, then Snarly, then the Rube.....now CRuz.

(We all saw the handshake behind Trump’s back, at the last debate...then CRuz saying the Rube wold be better than Trump, and now the CRuz lies are spewing at full speed. CRuz has always been, or has become, exactly who he’s campaigned *against*.)

The GOP dirty tricks against Trump have already started. I suppose it’s ok if it helps your candidate?

Excellent analysis!

The powers that be want us to fight a perpetual war against drugs, poverty, terrorism etal while they line their pockets.

Trump hasn’t torn the GOP apart, it’s been broken by arrogance and incompetence.
I’ve been Republican since 1963, it’s certainly my party too. If they hadn’t been ignoring my screams of rage I wouldn’t be beating them about the head with Donald Trump.
It had to happen to the dummies, they brought it on themselves. It was just a matter of when.

“As you’ll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.”

Losing to the Democrats was apparently fine with the Republican Establishment in 2008 and 2012. Their hand picked candidates ran two of the weakest campaigns in US history against a far left beatable candidate.

If Jeb had won he would be writing how we all need to unite behind him. His tears are delicious.

I never thought I'd say this let alone even think it since I became a steadfast Republican in 1975 when I turned 18, but I have to agree with you. Hence my satisfaction that I left the party to become Independent in 2012.
