An off-duty U.S. Army sergeant stationed at the Pentagon has been charged with fatally shooting a Virginia police officer on her first day on the job as she responded to a domestic disturbance at a home outside Washington, authorities said on Sunday.

On Friday, the department sent a message on Twitter that included a photo of Guindon and a fellow officer after they were sworn in, saying that she would be working her first shifts over the weekend and adding “Be safe!”

The death of Ashley Guindon was just the latest tragedy to strike the family. Her father, David, committed suicide the day after he returned home from Iraq, where he served with the New Hampshire air national guard. He was buried with full military honors on 26 August 2004.

Ashley was his only child.

Army had no problem with homosexuals and cross dressers.

It is one of the easier branches to get in sure, but surely the Army has to make their standards a bit harder to get in.

Some people I know in the national guard and Army are fat and a waste of time with a couple who have no love for the country, but joined for benefits.

All marines, Airforce, and Coastguard I know are professional and look the part.
