Republican presidential candidate John Kasich says he is going to beat Donald Trump in his home state.
The Ohio governor on Saturday morning laid out to CNN his path to the GOP nomination.
"I'm going to beat Donald Trump in Ohio," he said. "Once that happens, everything changes. Everything changes in this race."
Kasich said a win in the Buckeye State would give him momentum at just the right time to surge in the presidential race.
"We have many many more races to go," he said. "And the calendar begins to work for me" after Ohio.

Not gonna happen.
Translation: I’m going to drop out right before Ohio and endorse Rubio.
Changes nothing.
“The Ohio governor on Saturday morning laid out to CNN his path to the GOP nomination. “
1) Lose big in 15 states then maybe barely win home state
2) ???
3) Become President
Cruz will be endorsing Rubio any day now too.
If he does win Ohio, he’s pretty much guaranteed the VP slot....to carry that critical state in November.
2 is to so consolidate support after Rubio loses FL and Cruz potentially loses TX.....lots a big ol blue states coming up....
That looks like the underwear gnome plan for making money.
He already kind of did.
If Rubio loses FL, which is highly likely, he will lose his biggest selling point...electability...
Okay John, show us what you have!
Don’t bet the farm on it!
Beat him with his fist because it won’t happen at the ballot box?
I expected Kasich to win Ohio and Cruz to take Texas, but that may not happen.
Even if it does, Trump runs the table on the rest.
“The mother of all battles!”
In all honesty, we really don't know. OH is a large state without much connection between the spread out cities with a whole lot of rural separating them, and most of the population bordering other states.
I don't think it will go over well if Kasich supports Rubio. Most people I know are pretty fed up with the lack of even an attempt to stop invaders from being in OH.
Yeah, John, regardless of the outcome everything changes, especially when you lose.
