Donald Trump on Protester: ‘I’d Like to Punch Him in the Face’
New York Times ^ | February 23, 2016 | Nick Corasaniti and Maggie Haberman

Updated, 7:33 a.m. | LAS VEGAS — In his final rally on Monday before the Nevada caucuses, Donald J. Trump said he wanted to punch a protester, who had been ejected from the event, in the face.

On the eve of what could be Mr. Trump’s third consecutive victory among a fractured Republican presidential field, the protester — the third one to interrupt him at the event and who Mr. Trump said had thrown punches at security guards — really drew the candidate’s ire. As the man was being escorted away, Mr. Trump repeatedly told the crowd that he wished for the “old days,” adding, “You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher.”

“I’d like to punch him in the face, I’ll tell ya,” Mr. Trump added.

Mr. Trump has faced criticism over his response to protesters before. After a Black Lives Matter demonstrator was pushed to the ground at one of his events in November, Mr. Trump said in an interview after the episode that “maybe he should have been roughed up,” before later pulling back from his comments.

But on Monday night, he held nothing back, and the crowd of thousands met every one of his lines with whooping cheers.

Addressing another protester, a man holding a sign that read, “Veterans to Trump: End Hate Speech Against Muslims,” Mr. Trump repeatedly said, “Get him the hell out,” as the crowd booed the man’s exit.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump denounced Senator Ted Cruz, who earlier in the day fired his communications director for spreading a misleading video with subtitles purporting to show Senator Marco Rubio saying the Bible has few answers. Mr. Rubio, in fact, said the Bible has many answers.

For most of us, I'd guess gold, guns, and ammo.

That despite all the tough talk most will never use.

They'll be handed over for the next lost battle and conservatives will be crying out, "We'll get 'em next time with a real conservative" as everyone is in Mao suits, gender neutral, eating gruel in their commie bloc flat that they share with five "modern" families in between daily rapes and robberies.

“...I don’t know if to laugh or cry after watching that...”

A little of both, I think.

We are where we are, and we do the best with what we have to work with.

He was right.

Trump is right a lot. American society has been slowly brain washed by the media.

That is the danger of social media to old media, we can talk to one another without agenda.

It is also the reason that Twitter and Facebook are beginning to delete tweets, postings and accounts of conservative voices.

Must stop people discussing issues without media interference.

A declared political candidate, standing on a political event stage, having security provided by the Federal government, expresses a desire to get physical with a political dissenter, and you are OK with it?

This is not two guys in a bar - Trump said something that if the dissenter would have responded to in kind, would have landed him with Federal charges, with charges based on Trump’s politician status as a candidate.

This is not Alpha Male, this is the reason the First Ammendment was first.

Right, fascist wanna bees have a “right” to storm people gathering and try to disrupt their political assemblies.

Sorry Fascists wanna bees, you act like a thug, you are going to be treated like one. Crying hysterically when your actions have consequences is the behavior of spoiled children, not adults.

Don’t like being punched, don’t throw punches.

Isn’t it nice to see all the Cruzaders out in full force today? They had enough time to recover from the butt kicking St Ted took in SC.

Robespierre, Napoleon, Hilter, Mussolini, Stalin, Obama ...

All Ego-maniac power hungry, deceptive, populist, lying (both sides of the argument) ... riding a wave of angry voters.

Is this America's Donald Trump in 2016 ?

As a FreeRepublic (Class of 1998) patriot, who's posted many times applauding Donald Trump's ideas and courage ...

I continue to be "incrementally" dismayed at Donald Trump's demeanor and apparent personal immaturity.

How about You ?

How are we supposed to support a candidate who has a "Howard Dean Moment" once a week ?

Will a Donald Trump "better deal at this time (2017-2018)" cancel-out "The Mexico Wall" ?

Frankly, it would be GREAT if Donald Trump could "morph" into the "more civilized" candidate that he's promised to at some point.

Finally, let's consider General George S. Patton Jr. for a moment.

Patton was a fierce warrior against the Nazis.

That was good.

Kinda like Donald Trump regarding The Mexico Wall, halting Islamic Visas temporarily, ending Sanctuary Cities, rebuilding the military, and several other points.

But General Patton voiced his genuine respect to German General Erin Rommel.

"Rommel, You magnificent bastard -- I read your book !"

Does Donald Trump ever do that ? "No" or very rarely.

No ... Donald Trump rarely behaves like Gen. George Washington.

Indeed ... Donald Trump perfectly mimics the "Do ANYTHING to ACHIEVE Power and Wealth" like the 1880 American "Robber Barrons".

Ouch !

Kinda like the GOPe "bastards" who screwed Chris McDaniels in Mississippi in 2014.

Kinda like Hitler's Nazi Brownshirts who viciously attacked ANY and ALL who dared voice ANY criticism or dissent against their DEAR LEADER.

It's estimated that almost four-million Conservative Americans REFUSED in 2012 to vote for Mitt Romney ... considering Mitt a galaxy-class @sss-hole.

I personally held my nose and voted for Romney anyway.

But 4,000,000 America Conservatives told Mitt Romneny to GO TO HELL.

Donald "Scorched Earth Victory at any Price" Trump risks the same fate.

The painful TRUTH is Donald Trump has become an @sshole.

Kinda like a nausetating version of New York's Chuck Schummer.

This is such a Shakespearean tragedy in light of Donald Trump's great ideas (see above list).

These words will "certainly" represent a moment of "cognitive dissonance" for many Donald Trump supporters at FreeRepublic.

Film at Eleven.

Laura Ingraham just played the entire clip. Trump lamented a time long ago when fisticuffs would have taken care of the protester.

Hell, I'd support a return to DUELING!

When you find a candidate that can change the political landscape the way Trump has by doing things the same way as everyone else: you let me know.

First it takes two WP Reporters to make a Mountain out of a Molehill.

Now it takes two NYT Reporters to do the same thing.

Trump also said to the crowd as he does on may occasions that if he sat down with these Protestors for ten minutes maybe he could change their minds.

Tempest in a Teapot #7,487.

Uh, since Reagan didn’t talk to me or anyone else at that moment since it was in the middle of a production of “Will Rogers’ Follies” I don’t see how your comment even makes sense. But that’s Cruz fanatics for you.

<><><><><>

You know, if you’re not going to go back and get the whole context of the conversation you jump in on (which is the purpose of an internet forum), you can expect not to fully understand all of the comments, as you did not understand mine. To be expected.

I’m not a Cruzer. But I understand the need to put everything in a little box, it just doesn’t always apply.

I’m unapologetically anti-Trump.
