Ted Cruz may have placed behind Marco Rubio in South Carolina but he's spinning the primary as a bigger loss for the Florida senator.
Rubio was "endorsed by a very popular governor of the state, very popular senator, very popular congressman, all the establishment circled their wagons around Marco and yet he still only came in second after his campaign promised everyone they were going to win the state," Cruz said on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.
Cruz was referring to endorsements that Rubio received from Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott and Rep. Trey Gowdy.
Cruz added: "You know, frankly, if I'd had done that in Iowa - look, in Iowa we had the heavy hitters come behind our campaign. If we'd have come in second or third, you guys would have barbecued us for having all the big hitters behind us and not winning it."

The fact that Cruz would use endorsements to cop a plea on failure is comical. After all, he has 'Glen the Becktist' who will probably have a special 'ark of the Beck' carried before their procession into rallies.
He needs to send Beck home, thank him for his service but kindly ask him to shut his yap.
Exactly ... would love to hear Levin explain his buddy Beck’s fasting insanity ...and how it’s all Trump’s fault
Rubio should be a non starter for everyone. It’s clear he just talks a good game and does whatever he wants once in power. The gang of 8 thing is the only real example anyone should need to know that he’s just another politician. When will voters learn?
What a load of warped, psycho-babble, conspiracy crap.
If that’s the sort of after-action political analysis that dominates the Cruz campaign, it’s no wonder he lost every single county in the most conservative, most evangelical state in the country.
I t was such a joke to see both Rubio and Cruz try to pretend they had just won in South Carolina.. LOL
___________
I know, huh...
I mean when was the last time LOSERS got to speecify for upwards of an hour on how their second/third/fifth place signifies a mandate from dah people and it will propel them to the convention and the White House?
Its a rhetorical question...
These headlines are sounding more and more bizarre.
Cruz took third in SC and claimed immediately that he had “made history”. It was very disappointing to see him spinning like a typical politician. Wish he would have owned up to it.
Ted Cruz the illusion has been exposed.
==========================================
Cruz lost the Evangelical vote even after Glenn Beck assured us that Cruz has been sent by God to guide us thru the Rapture of winning SC.
Cruz/s own wife Heidi said that Ted in SC would show us the face of God.
Nobody doubted it for a nanosecond.
But as the old saying goes....man proposes...God disposes.
There might be a true conservative or consistent conservative in candidate Cruz, but the candidate is unlikeable and therefore unelectable. He just does not inspire or motivate. If he did he too, would have those 15 thousand people at his rallies. It is as simple as that. He just doesn’t have the mojo. It was stolen by Dr. Evil.
Yeah. it's astounding that Cruz was able to throw away so much support between Iowa shenanigans and the SC primary. Is Cruz just making stuff up as he goes along?
Cruz thinks he can talk his way in or out of anything, and he sounds more and more ridiculous the more one hears him start spinning whenever he flip/flops on a position, or something doesn’t go as planned. I think he let all the debate championships go to his head.
Have we ever seen Cruz’s US Birth Certificate or whatever paper it is that says he is a US citizen?
Oh my, Ihate to say this, but I must - Ted Cruz is whining. (Cruzbots are always saying that about Trump, so turn about is fair play).
“Old Kook Cruz opens his mouth again!”
Meanwhile, a common sense Republican tells it like it is.
Um, Trump won the Evangelical vote and I’d hardly call those folks - Code Pink. Keep spining - you might hit something yet.
Uncle Fester says I’m a winner!
I agree - Rubio needs to be taken out.
You think people haven’t been turned off by Cruz’s supporters?
