Cruz, Carson Met Secretly In A Storage Closet, It ‘Did Not Go Well’
The Daily Caller ^ | 2/20/2015 | DEREK DRAPLIN

Sen. Ted Cruz and Ben Carson reportedly met privately in a storage closet Thursday night in Greenville to try and cool relations between the two campaigns ahead of the primary here. But the clandestine meeting allegedly did not go well.

Cruz called the meeting, The Daily Beast reports, to smooth over what has been a contentious public spat with the Carson campaign ever since the Iowa caucus. Carson accused Cruz of using dirty campaign tactics after one of Cruz's staffers saw a CNN report and told voters Carson was dropping out of the race right before voting started in Iowa.

The meeting, which the Carson campaign confirmed to The Beast, took place prior to the Conservative Review convention and lasted nearly 25 minutes despite Carson only agreeing to five minutes, a source said. It took so long Carson was late to his speaking arrangement during the convention.

"We weren't going to comment to the press on it, but it seems pretty clear that the other party involved had a different agenda," Jason Osborne, a spokesperson for Carson's campaign told The Beast. "How else could we perceive that to be?"

Osborne said that "the meeting did not go well" and was on short notice, so he didn't have time to prepare Carson.

The former neurosurgeon reportedly told Cruz "we agree to disagree." As Carson put it, "we disagree on accountability and culpability," according to Osborne.

The meeting apparently had no chairs and it's even unclear if the lights were on in the closet as Secret Service waited outside.

After speaking to the convention, Carson crossed paths with Cruz in a hallway, and the Texas senator reportedly didn't even look at Carson, his campaign said.

Reflects very poorly on Cruz in several areas: conscience, social skills, etc.;

Cruz behaved badly in Iowa and people are not going to forget that.

Just like people didn't forget Sarah Palin saying "I can see Russia from my house".

So now they’re talking negative interest rates but they know too that that won’t increase consumer spending either because people will draw out cash and hold it rather than not only receive zero interest but negative interest rates.

They have dangled the newfangled convenience gadgets and people aren't buying it. They will make a push for the 'cashless' society, hard, because that will be the only way they can herd the money into accounts where it can be charged maintenance and transaction fees on a percentage basis, which will be how the negative interest rate will be presented.

It is all in what color lipstick is on the pig, not whether there is a pig underneath it.

More Ted Cruz dirty tricks. What a sleazebag.

I am not saying that everyone is "picking on Ted". Re read my post.

I am saying if Ted is as claimed, then Doctor Carson, a man with a full knowledge of human anatomy, should have been able to exit the room, even if he was being held against his will. (If you don't believe me, get in a fight with an EMT some time. My certs have been expired for 30+ years and I still can use that knowledge to my advantage in a scrap--his are current.) Apparently he wasn't held against his will.

I am presuming Dr. Carson can tell time, even though that isn't brain surgery, and could be aware that more than 5 minutes had elapsed. Neurosurgeons can afford some really nice watches.

So don't even try to blame Cruz for Carson being late. What a crock.

The imagery alone of this is just pitiful for both of them.

For Ted, it reeks of desperation.

Really? with his 6-7%? So all those stories the Cruzers have been saying-—that when Carson drops out all his supporters will go to Cruz-—is a lie?

Don't feel sorry for me. Keep your ersatz pity for someone else.

I know better, and have posted as much.

It isn't what I know. It is what people believe.

That statement was attributed to her, even though Tina Fey made it, and it damaged her, was used to ridicule her during the campaign.

Now, we see statements and actions being attributed to people, and we are cheering it? Not me. BS is BS, and I was pointing out the tactic--and just how effective it was.

It is in use in this campaign, and no one is running against someone with "Democrat" after their name yet.

If I remember correctly, Sarah enthusiastically endorsed TRUMP.

Enjoy your sour grapes. Cruz is still a liar.

Sounds like Carson is likely to end up endorsing Trump...and Carson still carries a fair number of voters now and a tremendous number of voters that view him favorably. If he now goes with Trump and lets people know what he thinks of Cruz, the primary season ends.

Carson said it on Hannity.

There are other sources besides a brief, speculative article.

If you think Cruz is a liar, that shows me what you think. This isn't sour grapes. I have seen a few carnival barkers out there, and Trump is one of the finest. His media folks and marketing people, his ad people are great, his social media people are marvels at inserting memes and letting the faithful run with them. They are using every trick in the book, and doing a bang-up job of it. Alinsky tactics, the big lie, it's all there for anyone with their eyes open to see.

But those who want a political saviour, who are hearing just what they want to hear will not be swayed by even the most rational argument. Follow that false messiah if you want to. The campaign he has studied best is the last one a 'winner' used.

As I said in another post, he is using the Medea (media) to pull off The Golden Fleece.

Why hasn’t carson dropped out? You’d think by now he has gathered enough money to build himself a pyramid to store grain.

I don’t think Cruz’s loss had anything to do with Cruz. People are looking for a Messiah. And people have decided that Trump is the guy they perceive will be the one to save the country. There is a tendency in people to put their trust in the arm of flesh.

What it boils down to is that unless Cruz or Rubio or anyone else can convince the voters that they are the Messiah for the country, then Trump is going to sail into the nomination. It doesn’t matter what Donald Trump’s positions are, people want to believe that he will Make America Great Again. So they will put their trust in him.

When we get to the general, it will be a contest between whether people want to keep the status quo or move into unknown territory.

Anyone proposing “change” needs to realize that more than half the country is getting checks from the taxpayers. Anyone proposing to take that away or rock that boat is going to have a tough time against anyone promising to increase or expand the benefits.

“Make America Great Again” is a great slogan. But will the slogan be enough to beat the democrats? I’m not too optimistic. Trump’s negatives are double his positives. Thirty percent of the people like him, everybody else hates him and he certainly isn’t making any political allies in this race.

Did you read Steve Deace’s piece? I kinda feel that way. There’s nothing we can do about where this country is headed politically. It’s a spiritual war. It’s in God’s hands, and by God, I don’t mean Trump. We have to keep that in mind.

I think Cruz' third place finish in South Carolina has everything to do with Cruz. His supporters may be looking for another messiah (for example, TrusTed is very telling). It seems to me Trump's voters are looking for another Nehemiah, albeit without the religious pedigree, who will build a wall and defend our borders. The slogan for Trump is Make America Great Again, very telling when jusxtaposed with Cruz' campaign slogan. Talk about a cult of personality alarm bell.

Cruz is the culpable transgressor and Carson the innocent victim. Cruz had an opportunity to make amends, but did not. So you blame the victim and wrap it in the rubric of your professed religious faith. Typique.
