Cruz Electrifies South Carolina Conservative Convention: 'We Can't Get Burned Again'
Breitbart ^ | February 19, 2016 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 02/20/2016 12:36:26 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

".....Cruz opened by stating that he tried to think about what Levin would tell him:"Ted, keep it short:defend the Constitution, repeal Obamacare, and kill the terrorists. And I've gotta say, that pretty much sums it up."..

.."Justice Scalia was an American hero..a lion of the law,he loved the Constitution,he loved freedom. I had the blessing of knowing Justice Scalia for 20 years...Justice Scalia, in three decades on the court, changed the arc of American legal history, singlehandedly shifted the Constitution and the interpretation of it back to the original understand, back to the text and words adopted by the framers. As Ronald Reagan was to the presidency,so too Justice Scalia was to the US Supreme Court..his passing leaves an enormous void on the Court......we are one justice away from a five-justice radical left-wing majority the likes of which this country has never seen."

[BIG SNIP]

.."[I]t is not one but two branches of government that hang in the balance." Cruz pointed out that Democrats always get it right:their nominees are always consistent. "Republicans..bat less than .500."

Why? Cruz said,"It's not that Republicans secretly want to put Republicans on the Court. It's that we've had too many Republican presidents who don't value the Court, value the Constitution enough to spend the political capital to confirm a real conservative." Cruz railed against "stealth candidates...If you've lived fifty years of your life and you've never said or written or done anything to demonstrate you're a conservative, you ain't."

That,too,was a nicely-disguised slap at Trump.

Cruz concluded:"Here are the stakes of this election. If, God forbid,we elect Hillary Clinton or Sen. Bernie Sanders or some other socialist, we will lose the Court for a generation. But if,God forbid,we elect some Republican who makes the same mistakes as the Republicans of the past...we will see our fundamental rights undermined for a generation....

You called the guy who said it was leadership a “nightshift bot” - who is on your side.

Interesting admission. CW is a guy and not someones wife?

Wow, you are really have troubling following things.

Eric Gene is the one who said Trump’s admitted hyperbole was “leadership”. It is Eric Gene you called a “nightshift bot” in your response to me.

You do speak English, correct?

That does not look like a Dem talking point list to me. It is just another article that further reveals that the Cruz machine is as corrupt as they come. Jeff Roe is the filthiest reprobate I have ever read about, but Cruz had no compunction about hiring him to run point for his campaign for king of the government mountain.

Well I prefer Cruz, less hyperbole and more truth.

Give this a try:

That’s truth on steroids.

Cruz And His Seven Mountain Dominionism Is Not In My Bible… Is it in yours?

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." — John 18:36

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. — Titus 1:16

Lifelong progressive for Ted Cruz

I just donated $100 to Ted Cruz’s campaign, and I registered as a Republican so I can vote for him in the Maine primary. It’s this simple for me: if Cruz gets the nomination, I will vote for him over any republican out there.

If Trump wins the nomination, I’ll vote for any democrat over him including Rubio, who I find fake and untrustworthy. To me, Ted Cruz represents the first opportunity in my adult life (I’m 46) to elect an honorable, honest, intelligent, thoughtful, selfless, humble leader for this nation I love. I don’t agree with some of his positions, but at least he’s got real character, true values, and he loves the Constitution, and I think he genuinely wants us all to have a better future.

I’m in! People like Trump, Jeb, and Rubio are the opposite of him in every way.

I live in California. My vote doesn’t count for squat in the primary. It’s over by the time I get to vote.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/431631/donald-trump-middle-finger-politics-toxic

“.....Arguing with some ardent Trump supporters (I’ve argued with some perfectly rational ones, I should note) can be exhausting simply because they don’t really care about the things we normally care about when measuring a politician’s merits. Consistency is no concern. Temperament is for lesser mortals. Good character is for chumps. Intellectual rigor - or even coherence - is the fixation of “the smart set” that allegedly got us into this mess. Trump is a blind, crazed, bull in a China shop smashing and stomping everything to bits, and his fans stand on the side and salute his genius and care.”....

I'm old enough to have had the privilege of voting for Reagan for his second term. I just missed the 1980 election by days.

So I've had one vote were I didn't have to hold my nose...

I’ll check out the link tomorrow, thanks. Done for the night.

FWIW, I’m happy with Trump and/or Cruz. Both are far beyond what we now have.

FRegards.

Your vote and contribution are a testament to the fact that Cruz is pulling the Reagan coalition together.

You're right, I didn't catch the link.

But it still indicates that Cruz is assembling the Reagan coalition.

If you haven't had a chance yet, be sure to read this about libertarians moving to Cruz - long but grabs your attention.
