On the eve of the South Carolina primary Cruz insiders are reportedly privately beginning to fear that a big loss to Donald Trump would signal more defeats in the SEC states. CNN reported:

That’s the worry of a growing number of people close to Ted Cruz’s campaign, who are privately beginning to fear that a big loss in South Carolina to Donald Trump on Saturday could signal more defeats to come in the so-called SEC states that are the lynchpin of Cruz’s strategy.

“If they’re pretty far back from Trump and they can’t get southern conservative evangelicals in South Carolina, I do think they’re probably going to have a hard time elsewhere,” said Erick Erickson, a conservative writer in touch with Cruz’s team. “I sense a real fear from people that if Trump blows everybody out of the water in South Carolina, that he is suddenly unstoppable.”

I went to Fulton/Atlanta County Precinct Caucus this morning. Kasich, Rubio, Cruz had token reps there. No candidate had used a ground game to pack the meeting for their side or to gain power when the Precinct delegates now go to the full County Convention and on to the State Convention.

In other words, all factions of the Republican party in the city with the largest number of Republicans in the state is asleep and is not trying to win anything. They are all just acting as if fate determines the outcome so why try to do anything to change the future.

They didn’t play games. The other campaigns did. Most of that stuff was all Trumped up. Trump smeared the wrong candidate and helped Rove smear Cruz, now Trump is going to lose and so are Conservatives.
