Supernanny Jo Frost's reality TV crew filmed a father 'disciplining' his son with a belt after the youngster was sent to his room.
The footage was filmed by CCTV cameras installed in the Spivey family's home in Gwinnett County, Georgia last October.
While reviewing the footage, researchers saw the incident between Chris Spivey and his son Marcus which began in the family's living room.
The nine-year-old boy is told to go to his room over an allegation he had used his father's cell phone charger without permission.
The youngster is shown making his way slowly up the stairs.
But shockingly, Spivey stands up from his couch and removes his leather belt before following his son upstairs.
The youngster can be heard crying in the room but the footage, which was broadcast on the UP channel last night, does not show any beating.
The video was part of the new series 'Jo Frost: Nanny On Tour'

Anyone that allows ANYONE into their home to acquire videos of the interactions among family members is completely crazy. IOW, they have a screw loose, and they probably already have an exhaustive FB account, etc. Idiocy in this day and age.

Some of us got the “switch” (a narrow freshly cut young tree branch). Watching Dad slowly remove all the stray buds and bark in preparation for use was part of the punishment. And only applied to the derriere, three or four swipes maximum.
My dad would make me cut my own switch to add to the psyops...hand me a pruning scissors...I brought back a downed limb one time. Pap says, “dang kid I want to switch you not kill you, now get back there and cut a switch” We survived just fine. We made it to Free Republic and beyond!

I used to get the switch too. Until I was 12. On that whipping I vowed to myself that I would not cry or even make a sound no matter how much it hurt. In fact when he finished I looked at my dad and said “It that all you’ve got?” It was the last whipping I ever received.
It sounds like an ego trip.
Sounds like Dad is a psychotic.
Hell Dad would ask “belt or paddle” and we’d get the one we didn’t ask for. Just deciding was part of the punishment
I remember the day my Dad told me I had gotten to old to spank, I was so relieved right up until he punched me in the mouth. Unfortunately it didn’t make a difference. I think it upset my Mom but she wasn’t about to say anything.
There’s a difference between setting and enforcing clear boundaries for children and cruelty. If a parent won’t take care of the former, or indulges in the latter, in either case they’re possibly molding a monster. In the context of this story belting a kid for using a phone charger without asking permission seems to cross a line and makes me wonder whether alcohol was involved.

Hey now, don’t be bringing any decency and common sense into everyone’s nostalgic trip down memory lane!
I am for discipling children even with the belt however, the kid borrowed the phone charger.....big whoops Dad.....however maybe this is a problem when the father needs it and the kid has it. Then the Dad says go upstairs.....seems to me he was walking up the steps. I don’t see anywhere in the story where this kid needs the belt. Probably a good idea to investigate. The Dad will get off but at least there is a write up of the incident incase more incidents occur.
