The Marco Rubio campaign is livid Thursday after the Ted Cruz campaign released a website that includes a photoshopped image of their candidate shaking hands with President Barack Obama.
Cruz’s website “The Real Rubio Record” ironically features a very unreal image of Rubio smiling ecstatically while shaking Obama’s hand. “The Rubio-Obama Trade Pact” the text ominously reads, a reference to Rubio’s support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The Cruz website also features a photoshopped image of Rubio smiling while leaning on a business sign reading “Closed.”
Among the red flags that the image is fake… who shakes with their left hand? Certainly not the right-handed Rubio.
The Rubio campaign was predictably less than amused. “This is how phony and deceitful the Cruz campaign has become,” Rubio advisor Todd Harris told a gaggle of reporters in South Carolina, while holding up the image in question.
The pushback comes after Cruz faced criticism for what his opponents termed “dirty tricks” in Iowa. In particular, Cruz was criticized for pointing out an official-looking flyer telling voters they faced a “voter violation” unless they voted for him, and for telling supporters to spread a rumor that Ben Carson was dropping out of the race.
UPDATE (11:13 AM): The Cruz campaign doubled down, telling CNN that they believe the image is authentic.

I decided to go ahead and read more of the mediaite story so I then finally clicked on the link to go there. Then I saw what photo that the statement I mentioned was really referring to.
Sometimes I react too quickly, and thus end up with egg on my face. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen.
OK I’m a Trump supporter and I find this hilarious. Especially that he looks so much shorter than Barack. I would love to see the Cruz team with Trump as the top of the ticket unleashing on Hillary or Bernie, would be epic!
Trump never claimed it wasn't photoshopped, like the Ted Cruz campaign is, even though it even looks photoshopped. You can see the point where the head was attached to someone elses neck.
Only a leftist liberal would make issue with a photoshopped political ad.......Trumpsters can’t make issue.... because political correctness is off their table.
Also "fake but accurate?"
Trump campaign pushes liberal reality TV star photoshopped to look like a conservative.
Smart people aren’t fooled.
Totally! It ranks right up there with repeating a comment which calls another candidate a p***y and with innuendo about Megyn Kelly's, uh, blood. Sheesh, who are these classless creeps, am I right??
This thread is a fraud. The image in question was not the photo of Rubio shaking hands with Obama. This is a clockmed bait and switch. Anti- Cruz fraudsters seem to be on the loose.
Aside from attacking children....I say let these guys go at it with their ads.....and we’ll judge who does it best and not at getting the point on the other guy!
Looks like the Cruz campaign removed the photograph and fixed it. I went to that website earlier in the day and saw the old one that was obviously photoshopped.
This would be the same Obama trade pack that Cruz voted cloture for?
Don’t take conservatives’ word for it, take liberals’ word for it!
Good plan.
No, it’s not okay. It’s a lie.
Everyone one of them should be removed from office for their treachery against the citizens.
Those pictures make my blood boil.
Your post here is so stupid I don't know what to say to you. I remember the threads on this when that ad came out and the Trump campaign's reply. You are uninformed and desperate.
Because ALL college roommates get along, right?
You’re an idiot. My first roommate didn’t bathe, sat around smoking weed, and was an uber-lib. I hated him.
Dead on. On some of these threads, it’s like no one commenting is over 15.
Wow. This is enlightening.
OMG it’s a photoshopped picture.
They’re all over the internet.
FreeRepublic is full of them.
Get over it.
What fake outrage.
