South Dakota would be the first state in the U.S. to approve a law requiring transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their sex at birth if the governor signs a bill passed Tuesday by the state Senate.

The Senate voted 20-15 to send the bill to Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard, who initially responded positively to the measure but said last week he'd need to study it more before making a decision.

Advocates say the bill is meant to protect the privacy of students, but opponents say it discriminates against vulnerable adolescents. [...]

The American Civil Liberties Union of South Dakota and Human Rights Campaign have been vocal in their opposition to the measure and have called on Daugaard to veto the legislation. ...

They need to amend the law to send "transgenders" to state run mental hospitals until a cure is found.

Thinking you are a different sex is no different than thinking you are a chicken.

My son took his son to the restroom at a store and it was for both boys and girls ... unisex. They left.. with disgust.. and not partaking of such nonsense and stupidity from adults who would think this makes for a better country. I wonder about the sanity of such who think this makes sense. Only to idiots. Lost their minds on right and wrong.

It’s unfortunate that bills like this are necessary. It shouldn’t be necessary to warn against using a hair dryer in the bathtub either.

The perverts are preying on our youth right out in the open now and the population has become too morally and ethically degraded to even notice.

Sadly, even if Daugaard signs the bill, it will probably last about as long as the marriage between a man & a woman bill lasted. It no longer matters what we the people voted for, it only matters what the liberal court system brought to us by the corrupt political parties wants.

Unisex is OK if it is for 1 person only with a lock.

That is a good bill, I hope it becomes law.

Telling a boy that he has changed gender because he paints his toenails and wears a dress is abuse. He is a he, a XY chromosome male and nothing will ever change that. No such thing as transgender.

Or take off the words "Men" and "Women", and make restrooms based on chromosomes.

"The American Civil Liberties Union of South Dakota and Human Rights Campaign have been vocal in their opposition to the measure . . ."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument

The rights protected in the so-called Human Rights Campaign have effect in the constitutional republic only if the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect a specific right.

I do not know what law school that ACLU attorneys got indoctrinated at, but the only sex related right that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by the 19th Amendment. And this means two things with respect to the Constitution.

"but opponents say it discriminates against vulnerable adolescents"

Oh? There are countless stories about how women hate it when some guy they don't even know sends them a "d*ck pic".

I guess "it's a thing" nowadays.

But women call that "harassment", and want it to stop.

I bet even liberal women would pass laws against that if they could.

However, if a boy/ man were to do the very same thing, in the flesh, flash women/girls in the restroom, said liberals are OK with that?

Liberals are the most screwed up, inconsistent, hypocritical creatures who ever oozed out of whatever hole they came from.

If I found out that some creep did this to my wife, he would end up with a broken nose, at BEST.

BTW, I'd wager that there are a large number of women who would kick the guy's ass, too.

Yep and it only meets a week or two out of the year. In South Dakota, if you want to run for office, you need to keep your day job.
