"I think what I'd do, as president, is I would make a phone call to whoever, to the group," he said, adding later, "I'd talk to the leader. I would talk to him and I would say, 'You gotta get out -- come see me, but you gotta get out.'"
"You cannot let people take over federal property," Mr. Trump said. "You can't, because once you do that, you don't have a government anymore. I think, frankly, they've been there too long."
Mr. Trump said he wasn't necessarily suggesting a large-scale military action, but that "at a certain point you have to do something and you have to be firm and you have to be strong, you have to be a government."
Sounds like Trump is OK with another Waco. Let’s see how many “freedom loving” Trump supporters follow him there, too.
The thing that worries me about Trump, does he plan on making the trains run on time?
Hmmm...bad.
Wrong answer.
What if someone from Da Gummint took over Trump Tower..?
“We’ve decided your stuff is ours...”
It’s not the “federal government” as if Congress was the supposed owner of the land. It’s the executive branch, via the Department of the Interior. They’re trying to make a kingship out of all this.
To me it really doesn’t matter if one is in favor of it, or against it.
It is a waste to have a fire fight over peaceful civil disobedience that is non-intrusive.
If they are bothering people who are locals in illegal or unethical manner, that is a separate issue. Still wouldn’t merit a shoot out.
This was about returning land to state governments. What is the problem? Oh you want the feds to own more and more!
While you’re making your anti-Trump point, why not post what Ted said at the beginning of this?
Something like “stand down”, wasn’t it?
But that wouldn’t fit your personal agenda.
Well since that is private property and not public land, it’s different. It is a property right issue and not a civil disobedience issue.
But I bet you knew that. I guess this means you will follow Trump here, too.
But that’s not to say Trump isn’t correct. One has to draw the line. Since government is in the wrong here, negotiate with those folks and let them walk. Unless the government plans on killing off the others too.
Bottom line here, there are solutions government’s claim to millions of acres, which desperately need to be addressed. It’s what created this and other incidents. And more to come.
The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State. There is nothing in there that defines the executive branch as the United States, nor gives it the power to do what it does via the Department of the Interior and its Bureau of Land Management.
Article 4, Section 3, Clause 2
This pivot to the center left should be fun to watch...

So were you the author?
That’s a new low. Not surprising, however.
He’s right. It’s a sad situation. These people clearly have some kind of deathwish. It’s too bad they didn’t listen to all of the people who have tried to help them.
You betcha!!!
Best, most awesome, greatest and finest!!
It’s ridiculous to say anyone is in favor of a firefight, maybe with the exception of the four remaining.
I am in favor of federal land being returned to the states with one stipulation as you say, that the title may never at any time in the future be transferred to a foreign agency. Land in southern Nevada has been sold or leased to the Chinese. Our congress just allowed 2400 acres of Indian land in Arizona to be taken and sold to an Australian. 25,000 acres here near me were sold to a Canadian Mining Company. It has now been sold back to an American corporation but should have never been in Canadian hands.
because what they did was a violation of law. And the agents involved want to be noticed to gain future promotion.
The Federal law-enforcement agencies are ALWAYS more aggressive when a Demonrat is president.
Ruby Ridge, Waco etc.
Disappointed!
Thought he would be more for liberty etc etc!

Not sure why anyone would be surprised he is an authoritarian.
Where or what will the line be?
Confiscation of guns?
Prosecution of free speech?
Freedom of thought?
Think we (including me) are like the frog in the pot that doesn’t feel the heat......................until too late.
Beginning to think IT IS TOO LATE.
Not shouting............Just emphasis!!!
