Ted Cruz apologized to Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday after the Texas senator's campaign was accused of trying to sabotage his opponent's chances in the Iowa caucuses.
Cruz's campaign blasted out a report Monday night that suggested Carson was going home to Florida instead of campaigning after the Iowa caucuses - something Cruz said Tuesday is "fair game" - but admitted that the campaign should have corrected that report when it became clear Carson wasn't dropping out of the race. He was just going home to get "fresh clothes."

Did Carson make one call to the CNN people he had just talked to? If so, when did CNN issue an on-air retraction?
For that matter, was CNN’s report even wrong - that Carson was not going to campaign in NH and SC? When I look at https://www.bencarson.com/events it looks mighty empty...
The way Carson is going after Cruz instead of CNN makes me wonder if he’s being paid to try to undermine Cruz, maybe to lift up Rubio...Or maybe he just knows what he told CNN, and that CNN’s report wasn’t wrong. Or maybe a combination of the two.
I don’t know. But a lot of people are using the “sleaze” word when it really looks like Carson’s schedule contains no campaign events ANYWHERE. From Carson’s campaign schedule it seems to me pretty likely that Carson wasn’t necessarily clarifying as much as he was claiming that not campaigning in NH and SC doesn’t mean that he’s given up.
Cruz did apologize for the campaign not updating their people when Carson clarified that he was just going to FL for a change of clothes “later that night”, which was the right thing to do. In the middle of a caucus when it was too late to reach the people involved maybe it was understandable that they didn’t get that out. But it was right to apologize. Something CNN has never done, and Carson seems fine with that.
Trump does not lie to win. Lying is a mortal sin. The Lord himself told us not to lie in His commandments. It is beyond irony that the great Christian Ted Cruz and his supporters are ok with Ted Cruz lying.
Is it a lie?
Here’s what’s on Carson’s campaign schedule at https://www.bencarson.com/events :
What When Where Details
Del Norte County Organizational Meeting Feb-6-2016 Republican Headquarters Office, 290 I Street, Crescent City, CA The Ben Carson for President campaign invites you to a grass roots, organizational meeting.
Humboldt County Organizational Meeting Feb-7-2016 Eureka Womenâs Club, 1531 J Street, Eureka, CA The Ben Carson for President campaign invites you to a grass roots, organizational meeting.
San Diego County Organizational Meeting Feb-11-2016 Denny’s Conference Room (No Host Dinner), 4280 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, California 92117 The Ben Carson for President campaign invites you to a grass roots, organizational meeting.
If the New Hampshire office of the pro-Ben Carson super PAC 2016 Committee felt a little empty Monday, thatâs because everybody quit and joined Ted Cruzâs campaign.

Hmmm... This might explain why Carson is accusing Cruz instead of CNN for saying he was going home to FL instead of going to NH or SC after IA.
But if he had bought a suit he would have had to find something to do until the DC prayer breakfast, because there are no campaign stops planned from here on out on his campaign website.
Tell me what the lie was. To be a lie it has to be factually incorrect and the person had to know it was factually incorrect.
What was Ted Cruz’s lie? Quote it to me.
Someone else mentioned that other campaigns mentioned this as well but when I asked if there was a link to it I was told it was twitter chatter. It’s apparently not news if it’s done by a 2nd-tier candidate.
Carson’s people in NH had already dropped out to join the Cruz campaign and there are no campaign events listed on Carson’s official site - not in NH, not in SC, not anywhere. So Carson’s supporters have probably suspected - and still suspect - for some time that Carson would be dropping out. Not sure what the difference is, between dropping out and simply not campaigning. Seems like the latter is just stringing on your supporters to waste their votes.
Then again, maybe Carson thought he could revive if he made a big enough stink to bring down Cruz. A very honorable tactic, would you say?
No, RS, the Cruz campaign passed on to their local people what CNN had just reported in a live broadcast at 6:45pm - that Carson was not going to campaign in NH or SC.
And Carson’s official campaign site has no campaign events scheduled for ANYWHERE. In NH he would have a difficult time campaigning because the entire staff of his superPAC in NH recently quit to join the Cruz campaign.
I’m talking about in this case. What was Ted Cruz’s lie about Ben Carson? Quote it to me.
I DO NOT understand how anyone could change their vote to Cruz after SlamGate. And I wonder how much of Cruz's lead was folks who were fooled by stuff like the dirty tricks against Carson.
The others have got to come down in one strong voice about those campaign tactics. The silver lining? We're all beginning to get it why Cruz doesn't make friends. How could he ever govern?
Cruzers, flame away. This is my opinion, I'm entitled to it.
Team Cruz should have contacted Team Carson before announcing that Carson was dropping out. All of the campaign watch CNN,FOX, MSNBS, etc. Yet only team Cruz told voters right before they voted that Carson was drooping out after Iowa and they should not waste their vote on a candidate that was dropping out.
Now the Cruz supporters are saying "brilliant move by Cruz" or "he was just saying what CNN said" of the two I have more respect for those that at least own up to the fact Cruz played dirty to win.
I don’t know about that if that tweet is real it sure looks like Gabriel who works for Cruz tried to steer possible Carson supporters to vote for Cruz. The time hack is Feb. 1st, 7:07 from Urbandale, IA of the tweet.
Here is the discussion about it on Twitter:

Amazing list! Thank you for providing it.
There was a long thread a few hrs ago about him. Looks like it got deleted. See post 97 for the link about the Twitter discussion from the Carson page.
Gabriel's Twit page.
I’m still waiting for you to quote Cruz’s lie to me.
What Team Cruz told their people was that Carson wasn’t going to be campaigning - which is what CNN had said and what the schedule on Carson’s official site shows as well. Carson’s superPac workers in NH had all just quit to join the Cruz campaign because they didn’t want to waste their time or efforts. They didn’t want to be held on a string waiting for Carson to come alive when they could be doing something constructive for the country. If Carson isn’t going to campaign, why is he holding his supporters on a string? Does he want them to waste his votes?
And why is he blaming Cruz instead of CNN - which has not only failed to apologize to EVERYONE who took their 11th-hour report at face value, but has buckled down and lied about what their report actually had said, as is easily documentable in the video footage of it?
I have not heard any Cruz supporters saying this was a brilliant move by Cruz, and I’ve been on these threads. Show me where this is being said. What I’ve heard them saying is that it was probably too late by the time Carson clarified (said his not campaigning doesn’t mean he’s quitting).
And it seems like the Carson voters went to Rubio instead of Cruz. Everybody was wondering how Rubio came out so strongly, and the breaking CNN news report that Carson was acting like he was dropping out - and Cruz speakers mentioning that - either angered CArson voters so they went to Rubio instead, or provided cover for Microsoft to manipulate the votes to Rubio under cover of the Carson fiasco. In any event, several of the places where the Cruz speaker brought up the CNN report were among the 5 counties that Rubio won.
Rubio started saying, in the hours before the caucus started, that he would do better than anybody expected. Why did he say that? I was mistaken on the time zones showing in the Twitter pages, so Rubio’s people were getting cocky BEFORE the CNN report came out. Now there are allegations that Microsoft manipulated the vote count.
So no, this was not a “brilliant move”. The comments I saw from Cruz supporters at the very first was skepticism that Cruz would have taken this risk after the “shaming mailer” had already angered so many people.
