......movie is basically a flop, bringing in only $19 million over the three-day holiday weekend. This is especially disappointing for those who were rooting for this film, because January is, for whatever reason, a good month for movies that pander to military worship and pro-war "patriotism," with previous years seeing movies like "American Sniper" and "Lone Survivor" cleaning up with these crowds. But this movie, which has the hook of the word "Benghazi" - which Fox News viewers are supposed to recite 100 times a day like a rosary - just isn't taking off. What gives?
Part of the problem might just be the movie itself. Perhaps if the movie was called "Hillary Clinton Is A Castrating Feminazi Who Reminds You Of Your Ex-Wife," it would have done a better job pulling in the target audience. But as it stands, the movie is just a rundown of the events that happened that day in Benghazi, and not some expose on how the administration dealt with it or anything like that.

Maybe AMANDA is admitting that her ex-wife was a castrating feminazi.

Gadzooks-- These idiots at salon.com cannot get any facts right. The film is not a blockbuster but it is making money without a big dropoff. Must be word of mouth, eh?.
At 33 million dollars, it’s made a LOT more money than any of the “artistic” films promoted by the tens of millions dollars at the “liberally approved” Hollyword festivals like Sundance and France and the Oscars, hasn’t it?
What was its budget?
I understand the [possibly morbid] sense of impulsive “I can’t look away” voyeurism in stuff like this, but in the end it is still masochistic exercise that benefits no one with a real, thinking brain. Salon? Politico? National Review? HuffPo? NYT? and on and on and on over and over again. Masochistic indulgence to perverted bents in my book.
Took in $33 million so far... how is that audience “rejection”
It’s not supposed to be the next “Star Wars”
We need to get venue-counts of the number of African Americans (AKA: Blacks, to everyone OUTSIDE of Rio Linda) attending this film.
Ya’know...jessfurthe record.
Maybe the reason she doesn't think it is doing well is because none of her castrating feminazi friends are going to see it.
I am speaking about liberal assessments of the movie. Not the movie itself.
Its a great movie. Ignore the clowns trash talking it. That is part of a manufactured social media drive to protect Hillary. Reading the commentary of the people trash talking, it is obvious they haven’t bothered to see it.
But it is a Michael Bay film so it will most likely do very well overseas.
Who knows. It might even do well with the Jihadis.
After all, I'm sure they're just as upset as US patriots about the wrong guy getting credit for causing the Benghazi calamity to occur.
Maybe Amanda, attended the viewing in her neighborhood theater in the Castro district and based it on that audience? (HA ha ha, even in Marin County it wouldn’t draw.) I believe it will be seen by many, even those who don’t want to be seen looking at it for political reasons.
It premiered in 4th place, and was 7th place last weekend, hard to say its a flop, especially considering last weekends snow certainly hit all movies totals.
I think its made about 32M or so, and cost 50M to make, so, certainly won’t be a financial flop, may not be biggest movie out there, but this woman’s claims are ludicrous after 2 weekends the numbers aren’t flop territory at all.
“Hillary Clinton Is A Castrating Feminazi”
They got that part right.
EEeeewwwww....
Good movie, although I probably make it to the theater once a year (last time was probably American Sniper).
While exiting, somebody played for the leaving throngs (probably on a phone) an MP3 loop of Hitliary’s “what diff does it make” - what a hoot!
The movie wasn’t made for the political junkies, like us, who have watched the hearings, read the analyses of the events of that night, etc. This film is intended to reach the Average Joe or Joanne who is only vaguely aware of what happened that night.
She is right though: If the title were “13 Hours in Benghazi” or “13 Hours of Hillary’s Leadership” it would draw more people.

salon..... if she is writing for salon, she is pretty much worthless and can’t get a reputable job (if she is a salon intern, she is really bad)
her report is really not worth reading
Aside from those who seek to ID with the truth about Benghazi, most Americans don’t understand what the whole mess was about and “13 Hours” would just confuse them.
