That’s not a quote. Just more made up BS from Redstate.
The girls there are truly desperate.
How about the whole quote:
Trump: And you know what, there’s a point at which, let’s get to be a little bit establishment, because we gotta get things done, folks, okay? Believe me, don’t worry, we’re gonna get such great deals, but at a certain point, you can’t be so strident, you can’t not get along, we gotta get along with people. You know in the old days, Ronald Reagan, and I remember it so vividly, I was a young guy, I helped Ronald Reagan, I really liked him... so what happens, Ronald Reagan would get along with (Democrat) Tip O’Neill, and they’d sit down, and they’d make great deals for everybody. That’s what the country’s about, isn’t it? I mean, we can all be tough but at some point we gotta get our country back on track.
Thanks
How about a direct link that isn’t third hand through Red State to “the Blaze” and heaven knows where else the real video is. I’m tired of click bait BS.
Oh, G-D here we go again.
I want him to go to Washington and work with the people BUT not beholding to the lobbies.
ONce again, I don’t understand the point. OF course, if it’s in the Blaze it’s BS.
We have much to do folks. Much to do. We need to re-invent the establishment in Washington.
Let me give you one example.
CAn you imagine what the first budget will be like that Trump sends to Congress? It will probably be the very first time a president sends a budget that will be so lean, the “establishment” won’t know what to do with it. It will challenge them.
IN short, I see Trump making the “establishment” his establishment.
Instead if going to Redstate, check out this video:
A Trump supporter from Texas destroys the intellectuals at National Review.
Just got off another story here where Trump is being accursed of being a “quasi-dictator.” Now here, he’s being accused of being a sell-out to the establishment. I guess throw up enough @#$@ and see what sticks.
Red State Fail.
Another rant by Red State is Breaking News. Come on. You people are desperate.
You have to translate from regular English to Trumplish for those on the trump kool-aide.
Trump is offally hard on the strumpettes at Red State.
Pull up your panties girls and stop shi*ting on our future :-)
-— so that he can get some really great, super huge, classy deals done. -—
He could make it possible for developers to collude with government officials to take private property by eminent domain. The developers make money and the government gets tax money. Win-win!
Making deals isn’t a bad thing. It depends on what kind of deals. The insiders make deals among themselves at the expense of ordinary people. In such manner, the country gets turned into so many special interest groups carving up the turkey of Joe and Jane ordinary person.
For example, more tax deductions and higher income tax rates for those who don’t have tax deductions.
For another example, opposing free trade (which hurts our ag exports) and promising more subsidies to farmers.
On the other hand, here is a good deal: phasing-in free trade with Central American countries so sugar beet growers in this country aren’t immediately wiped out by sugar cane imports.
Deals that expand economic freedom that are designed so they don’t hurt any group of us badly, such as phase-ins, those are good deals.
If Donald Trump is the next President, it will be very important who controls the Congress. We will need freedom-expanding deals, not crony capitalism-expanding deals.
Sounds like Trump will infiltrate the Establishment and destroy it from the inside. That is the only way to do it. The man is a master strategist and tactician. Go Trump!
On any given day, we see these statements made regarding Trump. They seem mutually exclusive.
He’s an outsider. He’s going to make the establishment bow to him.
He’s got establishment support. He’s going to make deals with them.
Red State is the runner up to Nat Review for CLUELESSNESS!
I understand Trumps MO.
Kick the door in, squeeze the lady of the houses hinder, tell her to fetch him the masters best spirits, chug a bit of that and hurl insults at all while taking notes on who responds to who.
I get it.
Not sure I want it.
The same is common with headlines used to attract clicks. I often find the headline blatantly misrepresents the story.
Trump was being reasonable. He is at his heart a deal maker. He needs democrats to forge majorities, to get deals done.
The real issue is specifically which deals Trump would seek to make. Right now I trust that he would focus on the border, fair trade, the military, the budget and healthcare.
If they believe he will do everything he says he will do on other issues because he said it, then it follows that he will do this as well.....There is no other way you can take this statement.
But Oh, well......Obama also told us what he was going to do, and he did it.
Tag line.
