I can see 2016 from my house and I don't like what I'm seeing

January 22, 2016

Dear Mr. Levin,

My name is Lauren Stephens. I’ve been involved in politics for a long time – mostly just as a pissed off American, but I am also the owner of Conservative Campaign Consulting. I do not work for any of the Presidential Campaigns. I am not coordinated with any of them. I have not spoken to any of them. I am not being paid by anyone for this.

First off, I would like to let you know that I have been a huge fan and follower of yours since probably about 2007 or 2008. I have several, but not all, of your books. They are really good stuff. I have even downloaded the majority of your podcasts.

Mr. Levin, for years, I have had nothing but the utmost respect for you. Your word has always been your bond. If you doubt my sincerity, you can ask a former co-worker of yours from the Reagan Administration, Dixie Cassell. You could ask a real patriot, C Steven Tucker, from the Chicago area. You could ask a lot of people. They know me.

For years, you have been a champion of We The People, and maybe today, you still believe that you are. But at this point, I beg to differ. Not because I want to, but because I believe I have a little bit more inside information than you have on certain issues surrounding the Presidential race. And the GOP.

I hope you will keep in mind, my respect and admiration for you, before you respond – IF you respond. Although I am angry, I come to you without malice. I am here simply because I know of no other way to get this message to you.

“Why? The campaign is over, right? Trump has won, Cruz is a loser and has no chance.
Something tells me the Trump polling is telling them quite a different story. The way Trump keeps harping on nonsensical things like the Goldman Sachs margin loan, the more desperate he seems.
Now Mark Levin, a hero to the conservative movement is being attacked on FR for the cardinal sin of supporting a brave conservative who single handily has stood up to the GOPe.
Would never have believed it, but there it is.”

Couldn’t agree more...it’s bewildering. Another cult of personality over principled conservatism. I seem to recall another cult of personality in 2008...and look how that turned out.

I try to stay off wacko left wing web sites that put out a bunch of anti business propaganda.
There are no oil and gas subsidies.

If you think there are, tell me what they are.

One error I saw in the piece was with regard to the house in Atlantic City. That house is not still standing, it was torn down by the new owner (Carl Icahn) who bought the property in 2014.

I posted this on my FB last night and was not surprised to have a comment from a Cruz supporter completely dismissing what was written.

Denial is a very tough thing. Cruz fans believe Cruz is the closest thing to a saint, and they will not wavier. It is sad on one hand. It is infuriating on the other. We have all seen the damage that can be done with a bad president. The pathetic part is that even if Cruz could be elected president, he would never be able to get rid of gay marriage or abortions. The coequal branches of our government would not allow Cruz to do that. Most Cruz supporters have put their hopes in a man who cannot deliver. Some say he would put the right people on the Supreme Court. Like he pushed to have Roberts on the Court, but oops, that didn't work out.

I do hope denial will not cause a Hillary or Jeb win.

Actually, I pointed that out to someone else the other day. Senator Sessions also said that Cruz was with him every step of the way on the immigration fight. And now Trump has cut his first negative campaign ads, lying about “Cruz is not strong on immigration. “

>>”Senator Cruz sure is taking in a lot of money from big oil, so I am going to challenge him to get his butt down to Texas as soon as possible and proclaim to all those donors that he will be immediately working to END ALL OIL SUBSIDIES (which are far bigger than ethanol subsidies). Mr. Cruz, please, show us what a real conservative you are: tell your donors you are going to cut them off if they elect you. By an Executive Order if need be. If you are not willing to do that, then you are a hypocrite and by your own standards, not a real Conservative.”

Wow, amazing quote. Says it all!

This letter was posted on TheConservativeTreeHouse. Mark Levin hates that site. Now Levin is threatening to reveal the identity of the site’s main contributor. I am mad as heck over that. Levin can pimp for that liar Cruz all he wants, but this is beyond acceptable.

Levin can stuff it and so can Cruz.

"So says this “ brilliant” lady in her lame defense of Trump supporting ethanol subsidies. Then she says no one has the balls to end it. I guess she never heard of a certain senator from Texas being pummeled by the ethanol lobby in Iowa." I would point out that opposing it and ending it are two different things. Cruz opposes lots of things, but I don't see him leading others to end anything. As such, he have become an oppositional isolationist. I'm not sure this is courage. I am sure it isn't leadership. To lead, people must follow, or you are the equivalent of one hand clapping. "So this lady thinks everyone and everything is subsidized." I would hope it is common knowledge that government subsidies are everywhere, unfortunately. Her point, is that Levin singled out Ethanol and ignored everything else.

Exactly! If Cruz supporters could be induced to read this article; they might have to stop trashing Trump supporters at the very least. Could they still say Cruz is the “real Conservative” and that they are upholding “Conservative principles” by supporting him?

Levin has proven himself to be a fraud and a hack. Levin is also a thin skinned pipsqueak who bans any dissenting commenters from his social media sites and just wants an army of sycophants agreeing with his rantings and ravings. He has totally discredited himself with his nonstop bashing of Trump and his failure to disclose his “stepson’s” employment with Cruz. Levin has chosen to discredit himself. He’ll continue to have a following and a large listener base but the Great One? What a narcissistic blowhard.

You miss a lot. Trump supporters ARE the people who used to read National Review faithfully, along with voting for politicians who turned out to be as clueless as they did. We also listened to Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. Hell hath no fury like voters scorned, which is exactly what they all have done.

Now, read the letter.

I read it. It’s stupid. Funny how Mark isn’t allowed to support the person he prefers but when Palin does it, every Trump supporter starts drooling.

Hypocrites all of you.

"Funny how Mark isn’t allowed to support the person he prefers but when Palin does it, every Trump supporter starts drooling." Mark can support whoever he wants, as can I... but I've measured his arguments and found them wanting.

"When Ted Cruz had the opportunity, THE opportunity, to nip gay marriage in the bud - did he? Nope, he turned and walked away. And what he chose NOT to fight for, is the exact case that led directly to gay marriage. You can read more about Lawrence vs Texas right here. You can read Supreme Court Justice Scalia’s response, right here. It sums it all up."

Cruz did nothing as Texas top attorney when the Laweence vs Texas was argued before the Supreme Court. That alone should sink Ted Cruzs' campaign to be POTUS.

I will read her letter when the Trump supporters read the National Review

I don't read GOPe propaganda. BTW your boy had the chance to nip gay marriage in bud but took a pass instead.

Agreed LOJ. TV Star has succeeded in doing the same as Obammy, campaigning on a cult of personality.

Trumpbots on FR act as intellectually incoherent as that reverse-engineered letter.

But lemmings will rush off that cliff into the sea.

NO. MATTER. WHAT.

“First of all, the way I see it, Mr. Trump was truly kind to Cruz. I believe the bromance was genuine, on Mr. Trump’s behalf. So let us not forget it was Cruz who fired the first shot by speaking so horribly of Trump in the undercover audio, which was later released to the public. It proved, without a doubt, that Cruz saw Trump as nothing more than another vehicle to take him where he wanted to go. You can click here to hear it.”

Bingo.

Much of the Levin problem is explained in this article. NO, I don’t like the source, but they got most of it right.
