Wednesday on CNN’s “The Situation Room ,†while discussing a new CNN poll that shows him tied for third in New Hampshire, Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said it’s a “tragedy†if his opponent Donald Trump becomes the GOP nominee because Hillary Clinton will beat him in a general election.

Trump is many things, and many of those things are not nice, but he has two key attributes: (i) nothing seems to stick to him (including things that would have sunk virtually any other candidate), and (ii) he hits back hard (and in a visceral manner that is easier for most to 'get,' as opposed to purely cerebral attacks). Now, I know there are many on FR who think Hillary will be easy to beat, but I can assure you she will be the toughest Dem candidate that the GOP has faced since JFK. I made this point some weeks back in some long posts, and rather than repeat them let me just leave it at that. She is the most formidable candidate since JFK, and in many ways more formidable than that character from Chicago that (probably the same people on) FR said was an 'empty suit' without a chance in 2008.
Trump may not be the most polished. He may not be the most intelligent. He may not be the most conservative. However, he is a beast, and this is an election where we need a beast of our own to defeat the beast that will be put forward by the other side.
All other candidates - Bush, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Christie, et al ...they all have their strong points (some much stronger than others). However, I do not think any of them can defeat Hillary and the Democrat Election Juggernaut (and it is a juggernaut ...in those old posts I made a couple of weeks ago, I made mention of how brutally effective Obama's GOTV machinery was against Romney's 'ORCA,' and Hilary's GOTV movement is an evolutionary improvement of Obama's).
Everyone has tried everything they can to destroy Trump. He's been in the spotlight for months. Innuendos have been thrown at him. Intelligent arguments that raise real concerns. Blind insults that just toss dredged mud. For months. The Democrats have tried it. The media. The GOP-elite, and more recently the Conservative wing that is supporting Cruz. All to no effect. If that holds going forward, and holds for the rest of the year against Hilary, then the GOP has a real chance to win. Not a given, but a real chance! Something that can not only beat (i) Hilary, but can also beat (ii) the media, (iii) the Dem's GOTV juggernaut, and most importantly (iv) the demographic shift that has been making it easier and easier for Dems to win (an important factor that is often overlooked).
The other candidates can defeat one of those four points. A few can beat more than one. Only Trump gets all four.
Let me close by saying that this election will be a fight for the soul of America. The mind of America was lost many years ago, and now the soul is at play.
What legacy with voters leave their children? Hopefully, the need to leave a proper legacy goes beyond ego or the need to have a 'perfect' candidate who cannot win. And no, this is not a repeat of the appeal for people to vote for McCain or Romney. Not at all. This is an appeal for people to realize there is a wild rabid wolf out there, and rather than unleashing their nice beautiful groomed Labrador ....that they need to unleash the mangy flea-ridden PIT BULL to go out there and get work done.
I cannot even vote, but the stakes and decisions needed are starkly clear to me. I hope they are clear as well to others.
I have to say we all need to consider how Her Highness works, and that she was a New York Senator, during which she and Huma had plenty of time to dig up oppo research, FBI information, just little things like that, on her “friend” Donald Trump. Who knows what Hillary is hiding about him that she will spring on the voters later.
I think Jeb is expressing his skepticism that any person outside the Bush-Clinton circle that has controlled politics for so long in this country could ever see the inside of the White House. I have to say it even gives me pause, considering what happened in 2012. I admire Trump’s willingness to take on the establishment, but either it has dirt on him so they can control him or is using dirt on him to banish him from the circle. Sorry to be so cynical but what they couldn’t stand about Romney was his squeaky cleanness.
At this stage in the game “What difference does it make”? Jeb is a has been, wanna be, political loser who needs to shut the hell up and go back to Florida. He will never be president nor will he ever be the peoples favorite.
How can an FBI indicted person, like Hillary, run for President
Well you have to remember that it will be up to the AG, Ms. Lynch to level the indict to Ms. Clinton.
Yeah, you’re 30 points BEHIND Trump and somehow you think you can prevail over the Clinton Machine?
....And see how much “teflon” the Donald has to backfire on both Hilary and Huma, just like the “Coyote and the Roadrunner”.
Because Jeb is all about winning....
Jeb’s just spending his campaign funds. He’s got people on his payroll who want a paycheck as long as possible.
Everyone knows they are polishing a turd, but as long as they get paid, it’s all good.
