Glenn Frey, a founding member and guitarist of the Eagles, has died ... TMZ has learned. Frey had been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November. We're told in the last few days his condition took a turn for the worse. Glenn co-wrote and sang most of the Eagles hits, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin' Eyes," and "Heartache Tonight," to name a few. He also co-wrote "Hotel California" and "Desperado" with Don Henley and took home 6 Grammys with the band. After the Eagles' 1980 breakup, Glenn launched a successful solo career, recording numerous hits ... most notably "The Heat Is On" and "You Belong to the City." Glenn also got into acting, snagging a recurring role on "Miami Vice." He reunited with the Eagles in '94 for their monster Hell Freezes Over tour and recorded music till the end, releasing what would be his fifth and final solo LP, "After Hours," in 2012. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had been fighting intestinal issues for awhile but his condition relapsed before the holidays, forcing the Eagles to pull out of their Kennedy Center Honors appearance in December. At the time, the band said he needed major surgery that would require a lengthy recovery, but it appears he was never able to bounce back. Glenn was 67. RIP.
Took a while for Satan to call him home.
They were an incredible breadth of fresh air when they came out. The music was so bad back then, and then “Already Gone” hit the charts. My favorite, Old 55. Crap! Tears in my eyes!

Thank Linda Ronstadt for the eagles.
Rats.... that’s terrible.
Wasn’t he on a ‘Miami Vice’ episode?
I remember Glenn doing some commercials for a gym in the 1980s, because he became a workout fiend.
Precious Love.
Oops - saw it in the article now
RIP. Another great one gone. Dang.
Such a fine sight to see.
Sad. He was my favorite Eagle. However, he and Henley did not write “Hotel California” by themselves. The music was written by Don Felder. Without the music it’s just a poem. Felder, and his wife confirmed, that the beginning is verbatim the way Felder played it for the rest of the band. And in the beginning Frey and Henley said they didn’t think it was that good of a song.
Felder said in an interview that they had an agreement that whoever wrote most of the song got their name first in the credits. Frey and Henley moved him to third position then eventually started leaving him off all together. He sued and I think he got $40 million.
Glenn Frey did not write âTake it Easy.â Sorry...
His writing it would be a surprise to Jackson Browne.
And another who won't.

He played the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in “Jerry Maguire.”
67 posts and not one Big Lebowski mention...
They don’t get more liberal than Henley.
I went to see them in Houston on their last tour and sat on the front row on the floor right in front of the stage. I bought the tickets the day of the concert and paid regular price. The ticket clerk told me they always hold a few back.
Ah, #74!
Tom Waits song, man I still luv his voice on this from back in the day...
