They were an incredible breadth of fresh air when they came out. The music was so bad back then, and then “Already Gone” hit the charts. My favorite, Old 55. Crap! Tears in my eyes!

“...The music was so bad back then, ...”
You mean Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Co. Grand Funk, Allman Bros. CCR, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Hall&Oats, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Linda Rhonstadt, Jim Croce, The Who, The Guess Who, BTO, etc. etc. etc. not to mention the best soul; Tempts, 4Tops, Al Green, Spinners, Manhattans, Tower of Power, etc. Motown ever put out?
I guess taste is subjective, but that’s the stuff that’s still on the radio.
yes it was a breath of fresh air when the Eagles started....sort of country, but not...All American I would say...something you can listen to and sing along with....
Well they were basically a carbon copy of Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers (which IIRC Bernie Leadon was a member)
