Today on CNN's State of the Nation, Jake Tapper revisited an old question with Donald Trump. He asked him about his faith and specifically about if he had ever asked forgiveness. By my count this is the third time that Trump has been asked the question.
At he Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, back in June:
Trump, who told CNN earlier that he is both anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage, said people are surprised to learn about his Christian faith.
"People are so shocked when they find ... out I am Protestant. I am Presbyterian. And I go to church and I love God and I love my church," he said.
Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so," he said. "I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't."
Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.
"When I drink my little wine -- which is about the only wine I drink -- and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'let's go on and let's make it right.'"
As an aside, Trump has both supported partial birth abortion and just this weekend floated naming a pro-abort as his vice-presidential choice.
In an interview with Anderson Cooper in July:

Fair Enough...but we will never know the true nature of Trump’s heart through the filters of the media. I look at the success of his family for what is hidden. His family is pretty solid.
Yup. Talk is cheap, and in that area Trump isn’t rich at all.
When did he say “all”. Include link please, or it’ll be OBVIOUS as to who is uninformed.
I remember four years ago how he was praising the virtues of Noot Gingrich. But the minute Noot gained any traction, he completely trashed him. He repeated the same thing with Santorum and Romney. The guy likes hearing himself talk. But he is not 'in the know' regardless of how much he things he is.
If he is supporting Trump now, he will be changing his tune next week. Count on it.
Hmm. LOL. Kind of sad if he is being sincere. He does not get it at all.
What has he done? Well, first of all, his attacks on Cruz reveal a lot. Also his attacks on others, particularly their faith. Mostly, though, I think the evangelicals are starting to realize that the only thing he offers them is “Merry Christmas.” Nice enough. Symbolism matters. But nowhere near enough. He sells them out on every other issue. Kim Davis? She should lose her job. The Bakers? No word. Given his Kim Davis position, he probably is great with them being forced to pay $135,000. Abortion? Questionable. In 1999 he was VERY (emphasis his) pro-choice, even partial birth abortion. Gay marriage? Um, obviously he has been married 3 times to women so it is “not his thing.” That does not go anywhere near saying he thinks it is wrong or that he believes the courts should be reined in. He’s from New York, you know. So he feels differently than “the people of Iowa.”
“If we say we are without sin, we decieve ourselves, and THE TRUTH IS NOT IN US.”
Great quote, think it was first said by Bobby Jindal if I’m not mistaken.
I’d have to say Donald Trump reminds me of a 21st century Manhattan version Of Lonesome Rhodes in ‘A Face in the Crowd”.
So did Barabbas.
Im not familiar with the movie but Im certain that the donald trump that his devotees see is no the donald trump that I see.

I am self-funding my campaign - putting up my own money, not controlled. Cruz is spending $millions on ads paid for by his N.Y. bosses.
You are correct, he doesn’t say ALL. My bad.
He says the ones who are deported can come right back in and be made legal. The only ones he would exclude are criminals.
So we deport 11m and let 10m back in.
Same as the gang of 8, btw.
Yup, Trump and Rubio basically same position.
Only Cruz and Paul oppose amnesty.
IIRC, Patton was the first person on the list.
Provide the source you have that Donald Trump said he will legalize 11 million illegal immigrants. If what you claim were true it should be easy to provide a video of Trump saying that.
Watch Mr. Self Righteous Pants On Fire reply, anything but a source watch!
Mr. oneliar isn’t interested in deporting the 30 million illegals, he is an amnesty supporter, as evidenced by his lies in this thread. Trump is the only one promising to DEPORT all illegals and preventing them from coming back.
“Wasnât John Lennon who said he was bigger than Jesus?”
IDK, but I bet Trump considers himself bigger than Lennon.
Yeah, but God’s a HUGE fan...always has been.
Sure, Dana Bash 7/29/15 CNN immigration interview.
Google those words and the you tube comes right up.
Please have tissue available for the tears when the Donald explains his amnesty plan.
